2015 Monster Pin DayOn June 20th 2015, Discovery Bay Country Club Members are in for a challenge. In the spirit of the U.S. Open, we will be increasing the

difficulty of the golf course by setting the tees in the very back of their

respected tee boxes and also setting the Pin locations in the most difficult

part of every green. We invite everyone to come out and see how hard we can make our favorite golf course.

Tee Times for the day will be normal Saturday times. Make your tee time and come on out to experience the

challenge.

Member Appreciation DayAs a way of saying thanks for being a member of the club, we are having Member Appreciation Day Saturday, July 4th, 2015. Join us from 12pm – 3:30pm for a free BBQ lunch including 2 drink tickets for complimentary Beer, Wine & Sodas. Music will be provided by the outstanding Annie Marie & Fiddlaround! This acoustic trio weaves an infectious blend of Americana music combining New Orleans style, fiddle tunes, country, swamp boogie, blues, & Cajun-Zydeco into a gumbo that is Toe-Tapping-GREAT!! Using fiddle, accordion, upright bass and percussion peppered with thrilling three part vocal harmonies they create a sound that is familiar and yet unique. We will have some fun activities on the Driving Range, as well as Pro Shop Sale, Raffle and Vendor Demo Displays. All members are welcome so mark your calendar!! 2005 TURKEY SHOOT

This year’s Turkey Shoot Flag Tournament will be held on Saturday,

November 19th. Make sure to plan to come out and see how far you can

take your flag, before you use your handicap

strokes. Winners of each flight will win Safeway

gift certificates.

hole rounds to determine who would get to compete in the Championship Playoff. It took a sudden death playoff to find the winners of this year’s Invitational. The winners of each flight were as follows:

How to play from “Waste Areas”

Bunkers, which are designated as "Waste areas", are found on the right hand side of holes #5, 6 and 10. The Rules for these bunkers are different than for the regular

bunkers on our course. If your ball lands in these areas there is no penalty if you:

Touch the surface of these bunkers when you make your practice swing.

Ground your club when you make your swing.

Remove any loose impediments from the surface.

For our members' convenience a reminder about these waste areas, and their

locations, can be found on the back of our scorecards.
