According to reports published towards theend of last year, things got worse for youraverage Welshman or woman. Here arewhat I find to be some of the more depressing statistics:

• Wales continues to languish at thebottom of the UK economic league withaverage GVA per capita of only 74% ofthe UK average.

• Unemployment rose to 9.2% of theworking age population, with somepredicting it would remain above 9%until 2016.

• Homelessness is at a five year high.Homelessness is a terrible experience forany individual and we now know itbrings with it an early death sentence,with homeless men typically facing anaverage life span of 47 years. This is 30years less than the average.

• To top it all the Welsh Government facescuts to its capital budget of 40% over theperiod of the current comprehensivespending review. The anticipated level ofcuts to social housing could be higher.

Whilst the Welsh Government lacks taxvarying and borrowing powers, what can bedone to stimulate demand for Welsh labour,stimulate infrastructure investment andensure greater supply of affordable housing?

As the economist Gerry Holtham has noted,the Welsh Government could use theborrowing powers of its partners, localauthorities or Registered Social Landlords,to help assist borrowing and investment. Over the past five years RSLs in Wales haveincreased their gearing by 16%, investing anadditional £400m in regeneration and socialhousing supply.

As mature social businesses, we believethat we have the ability and also aresponsibility to assist Welsh communitiesto emerge from austerity.

What is the point of having more socialhousing when communities might lack theservices and infrastructures around health,education, employment and leisure thatGalbraith referred to as essential for theavoidance of private affluence and publicsqualor? Providing good quality housingalso has to be matched to improved socialand environmental conditions in whichresidents enjoy a high quality of life.

Matching housing aspirations withimprovements in employment, health andeducation are all part of the widerregeneration process and housingassociations can play a key role. By usingRSL borrowing powers, through a newpartnership with Welsh Government andWelsh Local Authorities, we could convert

Looking back, 2011 was quite aneventful year in Welsh politics: anoverwhelmingly positive referendum forprimary law making powers, a NationalAssembly election and the formation ofa new Government. So what changed?

The key findings of the report are:

• Overall satisfaction levels are very encouraging with91% of members very or fairly satisfied with theservice and support from CHC. 84% of membersagreed or strongly agreed that CHC engagesproactively with them.

• Lobbying followed by representation stood out as theservices members valued most.

• More clarity is required on Governance and CHC’sNational Council where there was a perceived lack oftransparency and understanding of their role andremit.

• Networks, forums and conferences were seen asessential networking and information sharing servicesbut may need refreshing, with some calling for a morestrategic focus.

• Key challenges for the sector were identified asfunding and diversification.

• When asked to what extent CHC can helporganisations to meet the challenges, 84% said tosome extent or a great deal.

• Engagement and understanding of the members cameout as an important issue for CHC to look at.

• There is recognition of the tough task CHC face intrying to achieve balance of needs amongst a diversemembership.

Following on from December’sNational Council meeting, thefollowing task and finishgroups have been set up tocarry forward the main issuescoming out from the report.

CHC staff have been drawing up proposals to address thekey issues in these four areas. These proposals will offershort, medium and long term solutions to ensure thatquick wins can be implemented as soon as possible whilstallowing more time to implement more complex, perhapsresource‐dependent proposals.

Volunteers from the membership have been invited to siton each of these groups to act as a sounding board to testthese proposals before they are presented and discussedat National Council in March. Pending National Councildiscussions, proposals will then be sent to all membersfor consideration.

National Conversation – An UpdateBeaufort Research delivered the final ‘A Conversation With’ reportto the Community Housing Cymru steering group on 12 January. Wewere encouraged by the findings and the fact that the response rateamong staff and Chief Executives (85%) was the highest BeaufortResearch have seen.

revenue funding into capital investment stimulatingsupply in housing and other key community facilities suchas education, leisure and health. Such a programme forchange could also generate much needed new jobs inconstruction and civil engineering.

As Holtham notes, Welsh Government avoidance ofPrivate Finance Initiative schemes means there is no debton the Government balance sheet. Recent experiencesuggests that this has been wise and we have anopportunity in Wales to look for more imaginativeapproaches to partnership between Government and thethird and private sectors. Now is the time for a visionaryand imaginative approach plugged into the co‐operativetraditions that we claim as our own. A new ‘Co‐operative

Finance Initiative’ could provide efficient economicinvestment for the Government whilst ensuringregulatory and community control and accountability forthe citizens. Currently, there is discussion and explorationof new approaches to funding public goods – thesediscussions identify a clear role for housing associations.Let’s make 2012 a year where we move beyonddiscussion to action. What have we got to lose?

Welfare Reform BillOver the last few months, we have been lobbying Peers in the House ofLords to make amendments that would help alleviate some of thedisastrous consequences if the Welfare Reform Bill made it through theHouse of Lords unamended.

CHC has campaigned since the introduction of the bill toremove the penalty on social housing tenants who haveonly one spare bedroom – a room that may be used forfoster children, carers or as a bedroom for parents withchildcare access – but the UK Government’s use of the

‘financial privilege’ to overrule the Lords means that this isnow likely to remain part of the legislation. This legislationwill be a huge blow to thousands of Welsh families, manyof whom are already struggling to make ends meet. Thisvote could see 40,000 households in Wales penalised andat risk of losing their home. There is already an issue ofsupply in Wales and there is certainly not an abundanceof one and two bedroom properties for people to move into. The decision made by MPs will mean that householdswill have to uproot from their local communities andfurther away from schools, jobs and their families.

The government also used this rule to overturnamendments on Employment Support Allowance (ESA)and child benefit, and with the bedroom tax votereceiving the smallest majority on the night, it is clearthat our joint lobbying effort made an impact. It isessential now that we do all we can to ensure our tenantsknow that these changes are coming and that we arethere to support them. At the time of going to print theBill had returned to the House of Lords, where Peersbacked an amendment tabled by Lord Best by a smallmajority of 10 votes to overturn the move to cut paymentsto tenants with one spare bedroom. The Bill will return tothe House of Commons after the half term recess.

Housing Benefit UpdateDespite securing a majority in the House of Lords,and receiving the support of over 70 organisations –including Community Housing Cymru – the UKGovernment has overturned an amendment whichwould have protected vulnerable social housingtenants from a ‘bedroom tax’ on under‐occupancy.

Bron Afon Community Housing and Charter Housing areamong the volunteer organisations in Wales. Ian Simpson,Director of Community Housing and Support at Bron Afonexplains why they were keen to be part of the pilot:

‘We are delighted that the bid we put together with ourcolleagues in Torfaen County Borough Council andCharter Housing has been successful.

The introduction of Universal Credit will have a massiveimpact on our tenants, services and businesses. So weexpressed interest in hosting the DWP’s pilot in Wales astogether we believe it’s essential that we’re involved rightfrom the start.

For Bron Afon this is a unique opportunity for us to helpensure that we can support our tenants effectivelythrough the changes that are going to happen and adaptour own systems for the future arrangements.

Many of our tenants are actively involved in the runningof Bron Afon and many will be directly involved in thispilot. Their views will shape our work with the DWP andtheir experience during the pilot will be a key measure ofits success. In this way we hope our involvement in thepilot will benefit tenants throughout England and Waleswhen the changes come into full effect.

We and our partners had a very productive initial meetingwith the DWP project team today. Set up will begin inearnest once our DWP colleagues have completed thisweek’s introductory tour of pilot sites.

We will be agreeing a communication plan with the teamas part of the set up process. We are very mindful of thesensitivities and challenges here. There is a compellingreason to protect the integrity of the pilot. This will helpensure that its results are robust and that the system changesthese drive will deliver the best possible outcomes for tenantsand the sector. At the same time there’s a real need to findappropriate ways to stay in touch with the diverse group ofstakeholders looking in from the outside who themselveshave lots to contribute – with such massive changesahead, there’s no sense in this being a closed shop!’

The Campaign to raise awareness among tenants iscontinuing and CHC along with Shelter Cymru, the WelshGovernment and the Welsh Tenants Federation are workingtogether once again for phase two of the campaign.

Along with the postcard drop to tenants, Shelter Cymruwill also be running a communications campaign featuringinformation in local papers and Job Centres across the country.

Staff from housing associations and local authorities alsoreceived further training last month. In three sessionsorganised by CHC and Shelter Cymru, delegates wereupdated on the changes to the Welfare Reform Bill to date,implications for Wales and guidance on communicatingconsistent messages and advice to tenants.

Direct Payment Pilot Announced Earlier this month, the Department for Work and Pensions announced the names of the localauthority and housing association partnerships which will work with the UK Government on thecontroversial direct payment pilot. This pilot will see claimants in the social rented sector directlyreceive monthly housing benefit payments and paying rent to landlords themselves for the first time.

Cuts Watch Cymru

Community Housing Cymru is part of Cuts Watch Cymru,a coalition of third sector or charity organisations inWales who are concerned about the impact of thespending cuts on people in Wales. There are almost700,000 people in Wales already living beneath theofficial poverty line – that’s 23% of our population. CutsWatch Cymru members have grave concerns thatthousands more people across Wales will be plunged intopoverty as a result of the changes. We are urging policymakers to listen and carefully assess the impact of theirdecisions before taking steps which will affect the mostdisadvantaged groups within society.

At this stage, we have specifically chosen to focus on thewelfare reforms. Cuts Watch Cymru has selected a seriesof reductions and changes in the welfare system whichhave already happened, or are about to happen, toinvestigate further. The welfare reforms are motivated bythe UK Government’s deficit reduction plan, which isaffecting all Government spending. The changes andreductions span a range of areas including:

• Social Fund (Maternity Grant, Winter Fuel Payment,and Crisis Loans)

• Housing (Housing Benefit and Support for MortgageInterest)

• Disability welfare (Employment and SupportAllowance, Work Capability Assessment)

• Out of work benefits (Income Support, Job SeekersAllowance, Work Programme)

The research component of the project is well underwayand being undertaken by the Bevan Foundation, whopromote ideas and action for a fair Wales. Our firstintroductory report, which gives an in‐depth look at thechanges and who they will affect, is to be launched inCardiff Bay early this year. The first phase of the researchis now in progress, and we are currently gatheringaccounts from people in Wales being affected by changesand reductions to the social fund. We are currently talkingto young expectant mothers about changes to theirMaternity Grant payments, as well as talking to olderpeople hit by reductions to their Winter Fuel Payment.These changes and reductions are happening at a timewhen the cost of living is rising and people are finding itincreasingly hard to get work. ‘Social media is any form ofonline media that allows twoway communication, unliketraditional media whichdelivers content but doesn'tallow readers/viewers/listeners to participate in thecreation or development of

the content. Towards the end of 2010, as part of my CIPRdiploma, I surveyed the CHC membership to ascertain towhat extent they were using social media as a two waycommunication tool. One year on, I have revisited thesector to see if activity has changed. Here is a summaryof my findings:

UsageIn 2010 only 44% of members were using social media,with the majority of those using it in a similar way to theirwebsite – as a broadcast medium and not engaging in twoway communication. I also surveyed a number of Welshcharities and found that 88% of those that respondedwere using social media as a two way communicationschannel. Clearly the sector had a lot of catching up to do!

Fast forward twelve months and how things havechanged. According to my findings at the end of 2011,80% of members that responded are now using socialmedia for two way engagement.

How long do members spend on social media daily?The amount of time spent on social media sites has alsoincreased. The majority of members are now using it forbetween 10‐30 minutes a day as opposed to 0‐10 minuteslast year. Does the argument that social media is timeconsuming still stack up? In my opinion, the timeconsuming part is setting up the social media platformsand ensuring that there is a strategy and guidelines inplace for staff. Once this is in place, the day‐to‐daymanaging of social media activity just becomes part ofthe day job.

What social media sites does your organisation use?Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn usage is on the rise,Facebook has remained constant and blog usage hasdeclined. It is important to remember that yourorganisation doesn't need a presence on all sites –ascertain who you want to target and research which oneis most relevant for you. It is much more beneficial to doone well than to do them all half heartedly.

What are the main reasons for using social media?The main reasons for using social media have alsochanged over the year... More members are using it toalert the media to a story or as a monitoring tool.

Strengthening communicationsThe number of members who have communicationstrategies has also increased, rising from 56% in 2011 to78% in 2012, and the number who are integrating socialmedia into their communications strategy has almostdoubled over the last year. This is key to success as socialmedia should not be seen as a stand alone communicationtool but as something that enhances overall communication.There will always be a place for traditional communicationchannels.

With the new regulatory framework for our sector, goodgovernance has never been so important. Some of thecharacteristics that make up good governance areparticipatory, accountable, transparent, responsive,effective, efficient and inclusive, and social media canonly help us to achieve these.

How many times have you heard a member of staffcomment that “tenants are at the heart of everything wedo”? In order to communicate and engage effectively withtenants, we must be getting involved in the conversationsthey are having – wherever that may be.

There will always be a place for traditional communicationschannels, but with advances in technology, (and mobiletechnology), pressures on purse strings to do more withless and an increased focus on good governance, socialmedia can help us to achieve our organisationalobjectives and improve our communications.

There’s no denying it, social media is here to stay and it’simportant that we embrace it – 100% of respondents agreed.’

Moneyline Cymru UpdateMoneyline Cymru is a not‐for‐profit finance initative setup and part funded by housing associations. Moneylinewas set up to help customers who couldn’t access creditfrom main stream outlets, with many already using highinterest door step lenders as their alternative. Throughfive high street branches in Cwmbran, Pontypridd,Newport, Cardiff and Bridgend, Moneyline Cymru hascompleted over 7,500 loans to date.• In total Moneyline Cymru has loaned out £3.625m to

customers who would not be able to access loansfrom mainstream banks.

• Customers have opened over 3,840 savings accountsand continue to save on a weekly basis. They havesaved a cumulative total of £366,000.

• Customers deposit more than £34,000 into savingsaccounts per month.

• The estimated debt interest savings to date is £2.18m**The debt interest saving for all 7,577 loans using amedian APR of 45.52% compared to 272.2% APR (lowestpublished typical for Provident) is £2.178m.

Supporting People Update Following the Aylward Review in 2010, the draft SupportingPeople Grant Terms and Conditions and accompanyingGuidance were released for consultation which ended on 23December 2011. CHC members and staff were extensivelyinvolved in drafting the document, and CHC’s response tothe consultation can be seen on our website. Theimplementation date is April 2012 and Mark Sheridan fromTaff, Chris Rutson, United Welsh and Jane Pagler, CHC, areinvolved in work to ensure the transition runs smoothly. Research study commissioned:More than bricks and mortarHousing associations are more than just a landlord, theyundertake activities which improve people's health andwellbeing, provide opportunities for adult learning, andtraining and apprenticeship opportunities for youngpeople. These activities which contribute to the WelshGovernment's broader policy objectives make a bigdifference to people's lives.

To ascertain the extent of the support provided by housingassociations to their tenants, the Welsh Government andCHC have commissioned Housing Plus Cymru to carry outa study covering all the regulated housing associations inWales, with Welsh Government and CHC workingtogether to steer and facilitate the project.

Two focus groups have been held in North and South Walesand each housing association has been sent an onlinequestionnaire to complete. A number of interviews andcase studies will also be undertaken. The final report fromthe research is due before the end of March, and a summaryof the results will feature in the next edition of Cartref.

Big Energy WeekHousing associations across Wales participated in BigEnergy Week in January. Organised by Citizens Advice,associations were active in advising tenants on energyissues and providing tips on how to cope with risingenergy bills. Social media played a big part for manyassociations, with members using Twitter and Facebookto give energy saving tips to tenants. Well done to all whoparticipated.

Care & Repair WeekCare & Repair week ran from 6 – 10 February. The Care &Repair movement in Wales actively works to ensure thatall older people have homes that are safe, secure andappropriate to their needs. The aim of the week was toraise the profile of the movement in Wales and ensurethat older people and their families know that there ishelp and support available. Huw Lewis AM visited Mr King,a client of Care & Repair Cardiff, during the week and all 22agencies in Wales did their bit to raise their profile locally.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change’s greendeal and energy company obligation consultationdocument does not fully explore the role the socialhousing sector can play in the programme and arguablyposes more questions than answers. One thing that iscertain is that the consultation was launched in the wakeof the announcement on 31 October 2011 that rates ofFeed‐in Tariff (FIT) subsidy will be reduced verysignificantly and at very short notice. This has impactedsignificantly on further installations of solar PV in thesocial housing sector in Wales and many will argue that ithas influenced the sector’s confidence in DECC policy, andhas set an important context for arguments about theequitable distribution of subsidy for energy efficiency.

CHC has responded to the consultation and has drivenhome the message that subsidy for energy efficiencyneeds to be equitably distributed following intentions forpart of the energy company obligation to be excluded forsocial housing tenants. Our sector provides homes tosome of the most vulnerable people in society who arevulnerable to fuel poverty and will be paying for thisobligation through their fuel bills. CHC will be workingclosely with DECC to call for all the right conditions to beput in place so that the social housing sector can accessthis programme in the best conditions possible.

The Green DealGregory Barker, Minister of State for Energy and ClimateChange, has hailed 2012 as a monumental year forBritain, not only because of the Diamond Jubilee andthe Olympics, but also because it’s the year in which thegreen deal will be launched – the biggest home energyimprovement programme of modern times.

Party ConferencesRepresentatives from theCommunity Housing CymruGroup will be at all partyconferences in Wales thisspring. Staff from CHC, Care& Repair Cymru and theCentre for RegenerationExcellence Wales will takepart in breakfast seminarswith a range of elected and

party representatives to discuss our priorities forthe upcoming local government elections in Wales.

We will be using these seminars to launch our manifestofor the May elections, which will call for action on emptyhomes, encourage the expansion of Moneyline Cymru tohelp those who are financially excluded, and call on allthe parties to address the availability of funding forProperty Appreciation Loans to help older people withserious and urgent disrepair to their homes, where grantfunding cannot be found.

We believe that an innovative approach which harnessesthe potential of the not‐for‐profit sector in Wales will helpminimise the potential damage posed by cuts to publicservices such as housing, care, support and regeneration.We want to see local government and the not‐for‐profitsector working together to improve the provision andquality of housing and to ensure that services benefitcommunities all over Wales. CHC is calling on all localgovernment candidates to work with the sector on threekey priorities:

1Actions to increase and improve affordablehousing: With 91,000 people in Wales on a socialhousing list, the issue of an estimated 26,000 long‐

term empty properties could provide part of the solutionto this problem. There are a number of good practiceexamples across local authorities and successful initiativesmust be shared across county borders with encouragementand action to ensure that empty homes are brought backinto use.

We are also renewing our calls for local authorities toidentify suitable land in their ownership that can be madeavailable for affordable housing. Through working inpartnership with local authorities we can reduce wastedeffort and avoid duplication.

2Actions for regeneration: Local authorities canfollow the lead of the housing sector inimplementing the ‘Can Do Toolkit’ across all public

service provision, which will offer more value for the‘Welsh Pound’ and open up opportunities for small

companies while supporting local employment and trainingopportunities as well as social enterprises in Wales.

CHC is also committed to extending Moneyline Cymruacross Wales in order to support more people in financialneed and to ensure that customers have access toservices appropriate to their needs including basic bankaccounts, money advice and affordable loans.

3Action for delivering better care and support: Localgovernment can work with Care & Repair agenciesto provide vulnerable older people with better

services, and one gap that needs to be addressed is theavailability of funding to help those whose homes are inserious disrepair. Where grant funding cannot be found,Property Appreciation Loans can provide a safety net andoffer an innovative and efficient way of making the bestuse of public funds by giving loans rather than grants. Itwill require an initial funding injection, but this can thenbe recycled to enable sustainable funding for repairingpoor housing for older people in the long term.

As well as attending the Spring Party Conferences, theCHC Group will be running an integrated communicationscampaign to highlight these important messages toprospective candidates and political parties during Marchand April.

A MEMBER’S PERSPECTIVE

The two mistakes I made were to devise somethingwithout asking what tenants wanted and to createsomething that gave the organisation complete control. Twenty years on and the world has changed. In 1992there were no websites and no email, now they areeveryday tools at home and in the office. However, thechange continues; websites are increasingly seen as fairlycorporate, static containers for information and selfpromotion and social media has taken over as the conduitfor dialogue, ideas and engagement.

The corporate world has already caught onto this trend.Coca Cola received 270,000 visits to its website in a yearbut 38,000,000 Facebook users have liked its page. Thismeans that every announcement made by Coca Cola willbe received on the computers, iPods or phones of38,000,000 people worldwide. In addition, those38,000,000 people can comment on the announcementor share it with their network of friends. Websites costthousands to develop, Facebook, Twitter etc. are free.

Newydd has decided to really embrace the social mediarevolution and to use it as a key component of our tenantengagement effort. The use of social media clearly has amarketing function but for us it is also about openness,transparency and accessibility.

My structured tenant involvement idea in the 1990s failedbecause some people want to get on with their lives anddon’t want to attend meetings. However, those peopleare often happy to give an opinion by typing a fewsentences as they wait for a bus or sit at home. To us thatis as valuable as a contribution in a meeting.

We know that we will receive some posts that we wouldrather not have on our site but by responding to thesepositively we believe it will cast us in a better light thanignoring or suppressing comment. We have relinquished

control and handed it to our friends and followers, onlyretaining editorial rights if we need to remove offensivematerial. Feedback is fast on social media and we haveturned complaints into praise by responding quickly.

As well as Newydd’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, I alsohave my own work account and am slightly embarrassedto claim well over 300 friends including the First Ministerand many tenants. Real and meaningful engagement withtenants is always hard when you have a busy schedule asit often involves travel and arranging diary appointments.However, by using Facebook and Twitter I can post newsand ideas in a minute or two and get very quick feedbackfrom people.

The networking opportunities for tenants are significanttoo. Tenants can join in a discussion and offer ideas. Inthis way, we have had tenants discussing affordablewarmth tips and inviting each other to community events. The use of social media can be scary and there may be atemptation to control it but in the end this is futile. Ifpeople have something to say about you they will say it,better that it is on your site where you can respond thanon a site you know nothing about. We and some othershave embraced it and I would urge others to give it a go.

Dutifully I got towork on a structure, a tenants’ forum to represent all thetenants’ groups. My new Board thought it was a good idea, itwas mentioned across the sector as innovative practice a fewtimes and it didn’t work.

Yn ôl adroddiadau a gyhoeddwyd tuag atddiwedd y llynedd, gwaethygodd pethau i’rCymro neu Gymraes gyffredin. Dyma rai o’rystadegau mwyaf digalon yn fy marn i:

• Cymru’n parhau i nychu ar waelodcynghrair economaidd y Deyrnas Unediggyda Gwerth Ychwanegol Crynswth ypen o ddim ond 74% o gyfartaledd yDeyrnas Unedig.

• Cynyddodd diweithdra i 9.2% o’rboblogaeth oed gwaith, gyda rhai’nrhagweld y bydd yn aros dros 9% hyd2016.

• Mae digartrefedd yn uwch nag y bu ambum mlynedd. Mae digartrefedd ynbrofiad ofnadwy i unrhyw unigolyn agwyddom bod pobl ddigartref yn marwyn iau – gyda dyn digartref yn byw argyfartaledd am 47 mlynedd. Mae hyn 30mlynedd yn llai na’r cyfartaledd.

• I ychwanegu at y cyfan, maeLlywodraeth Cymru’n wynebu toriadau o40% i’w chyllideb gyfalaf dros gyfnod yradolygiad gwariant cynhwysfawrcyfredol – gallai’r lefel o doriadau aragwelir i dai cymdeithasol fod yn uwch.

Er nad oes gan Lywodraeth Cymru bwerauamrywio trethi a benthyca, beth fedrir eiwneud i ysgogi galw am lafur yng Nghymru,ysgogi buddsoddiad seilwaith a sicrhaumwy o gyflenwad o dai fforddiadwy?

Fel y nododd yr economegydd GerryHoltham, gallai Llywodraeth Cymruddefnyddio pwerau benthyca ei phartneriaid,awdurdodau lleol neu yn wir landlordiaidcymdeithasol cofrestredig, i helpu igynorthwyo benthyca a buddsoddiad.

Mae LCC yng Nghymru wedi cynyddu eu geriogan 16% dros y pum mlynedd ddiwethaf –gan fuddsoddi £400m ychwanegol mewnadfywio a chyflenwi tai cymdeithasol.

Fel busnesau cymdeithasol aeddfed, credwnfod gennym y gallu a hefyd gyfrifoldeb igynorthwyo cymunedau Cymru i ddod drwy’rcyfnod llwm.

Beth yw pwynt cael mwy o dai cymdeithasolpan nad oes gan gymunedau’r gwasanaethauac isadeiledd iechyd, addysg, cyflogaeth ahamdden y dywedodd JK Galbraith eu bodyn hanfodol i osgoi golud preifat ac aflendidcyhoeddus? Mae’n rhaid i ddarparu taiansawdd da hefyd gael ei gyfateb i wellaamodau cymdeithasol ac amgylcheddol llemae preswylwyr yn mwynhau ansawdduchel o fywyd.

Mae’r canfyddiadauyn ogystal â’r ffaith fod y gyfradd ymateb ymysg staff a Phrif Weithredwyr(85%) yr uchaf i Beaufort Research erioed eu gweld yn galonogol.

Mesur Diwygio LlesOver the last few months, we have been lobbying Peers in the House ofLords to make amendments that would help alleviate some of thedisastrous consequences if the Welfare Reform Bill made it through theHouse of Lords unamended.

Mae CHC wedi ymgyrchu ers cyflwyno’r mesur i ddileu’rgosb ar denantiaid tai cymdeithasol sydd â dim ond unystafell wely sbâr – ystafell y gellir ei defnyddio ar gyferplant maeth, gofalwyr neu fel ystafell wely ar gyfer rhienigyda mynediad gofal plant – ond mae defnydd Llywodraethy Deyrnas Unedig o’r rheol ‘braint ariannol’ i oruwchreoili’rArglwyddi yn golygu y bydd hyn mwy na thebyg ynparhau’n rhan o’r ddeddfwriaeth. Bydd y ddeddfwriaethyn taro’n galed iawn ar filoedd o deuluoedd yng Nghymru,gyda llawer ohonynt eisoes yn ei chael yn anodd caeldeupen llinyn ynghyd. Gallai’r bleidlais olygu y gallai40,000 o aelwydydd yng Nghymru gael eu cosbi a bodmewn risg o golli eu cartrefi. Mae cyflenwad eisoes ynbroblem fawr yng Nghymru ac yn sicr nid oes digonedd oanheddau un a dwy ystafell wely i bobl symud iddynt.Bydd penderfyniad yr Aelodau Seneddol yn golygu y byddyn rhaid i lawer o deuluoedd symud o’u broydd acymhellach o ysgolion, swyddi a’u teuluoedd.

Fe wnaeth y llywodraeth hefyd ddefnyddio’r rheol yma iwrthdroi gwelliannau ar y Lwfans Cyflogaeth a Chymortha gyda’r bleidlais ar dreth llofftydd yn cael y mwyafriflleiaf ar y noswaith, mae’n amlwg y bu’n gwaith yn lobioar y cyd yn effeithiol. Mae’n hanfodol yn awr ein bod yngwneud popeth yn ein gallu i sicrhau fod ein tenantiaid yngwybod bod y newidiadau hyn yn dod a’n bod yno i’wcefnogi. Adeg mynd i’r wasg, roedd y Mesur wedidychwelyd i Dŷ’r Arglwyddi, lle cefnogodd yr Arglwyddiwelliant a gyflwynwyd gan yr Arglwydd Best gydamwyafrif bychan o 10 pleidlais i wrthdroi’r symudiad idorri taliadau i denantiaid gydag un ystafell wely sbâr.Bydd y Mesur yn dychwelyd i Dŷ’r Cyffredin ar ôl y toriadhanner tymor.

Mae Tai Cymunedol Bron Afon a Tai Siarter ymysg ysefydliadau gwirfoddolwyr yng Nghymru. Esboniodd IanSimpson, Cyfarwyddwr Tai Cymunedol a Chefnogaeth BronAfon pam eu bod yn awyddus i fod yn rhan o’r peilot:

‘Rydym yn falch iawn y bu’r cynnig y gwnaethom eibaratoi gyda’n cydweithwyr yng Nghyngor BwrdeisdrefSirol Torfaen a Tai Siarter yn llwyddiannus.

Bydd cyflwyno Credyd Cynhwysol yn cael effaith enfawr arein tenantiaid, gwasanaethau a busnesau. Felly fewnaethom fynegi diddordeb mewn cynnal cynllun peilotyr Adran Gwaith a Phensiynau yng Nghymru gan ein bodgyda’n gilydd yn credu ei bod yn hanfodol ein bod yncymryd rhan o’r cychwyn cyntaf.

Mae hwn yn gyfle unigryw i Bron Afon i’n helpu i sicrhau ymedrwn gefnogi ein tenantiaid yn effeithiol drwy’rnewidiadau sy’n mynd i ddigwydd ac addasu ein systemauein hunain ar gyfer trefniadau’r dyfodol.

Mae llawer o’n tenantiaid yn cymryd rhan weithgar ynrhedeg Bron Afon a bydd llawer mwy yn cymryd rhanuniongyrchol yn y cynllun peilot yma. Bydd eu barn ynllunio ein gwaith gyda’r Adran Gwaith a Phensiynau abydd eu profiad yn ystod y peilot yn fesur allweddol o’ilwyddiant. Yn y ffordd hon gobeithiwn y byddwn drwygymryd rhan yn y peilot yn sicrhau budd i denantiaid ymmhob rhan o Gymru a Lloegr pan ddaw'r newidiadau irym yn llawn.

Cawsom ni a’n partneriaid gyfarfod dechreuol cynhyrchioliawn gyda thîm prosiect yr Adran Gwaith a Phensiynau.Bydd y gwaith arno yn dechrau o ddifrif unwaith y maeein cydweithwyr yn yr Adran wedi cwblhau’r daith oamgylch y safleoedd peilot.

Byddwn yn cytuno ar gynllun cyfathrebu gyda’r tîm felrhan o’r broses sefydlu. Rydym yn ymwybodol iawn o’rsensitifrwydd a’r heriau yma. Mae rheswm cryf drosddiogelu integriti’r cynllun peilot. Bydd hyn yn helpu isicrhau fod ei ganlyniadau yn gadarn a bod y newidiadausystem a gaiff ei gyrru ganddynt yn sicrhau’r canlyniadaugorau posibl i denantiaid a’r sector. Ar yr un pryd maeangen gwirioneddol i ganfod ffyrdd addas i gadw mewncysylltiad gyda’r grŵp amrywiol o randdeiliaid sy’n edrychi mewn o’r tu allan ac sydd eu hunain â llawer i’wgyfrannu – gyda newidiadau mor enfawr i ddod, nid oesunrhyw synnwyr mewn cadw hyn yn siop gaeedig!’

Cuts Watch Cymru

Mae Cartrefi Cymunedol Cymru yn rhan o Cuts WatchCymru, cynghrair o sefydliadau trydydd sector neuelusennol yng Nghymru sy’n bryderus am effaith ytoriadau gwariant ar bobl yng Nghymru. Mae bron700,000 o bobl yng Nghymru eisoes yn byw dan y llinelldlodi swyddogol – 23% o’n poblogaeth. Mae gan aelodauCuts Watch Cymru bryderon mawr y bydd miloedd yn fwyo bobl yn mynd i dlodi fel canlyniad i’r newidiadau.Anogwn wneuthurwyr polisi i wrando ac asesu’n ofaluseffaith eu penderfyniadau cyn cymryd camau fydd yneffeithio ar y grwpiau sydd dan fwyaf o anfantais o fewncymdeithas.

Ar y cam hwn, rydym wedi dewis yn benodol iganolbwyntio ar y diwygiadau lles. Mae Cuts WatchCymru wedi dethol cyfres o ostyngiadau a newidiadau yny system les sydd eisoes wedi digwydd, neu sydd ar findigwydd, i’w hymchwilio ymhellach. Caiff y newidiadaulles eu cymell gan gynllun Lywodraeth y Deyrnas Unedig iostwng y diffyg, ac mae hyn yn effeithio ar holl wariant yllywodraeth. Mae’r newidiadau gostyngiadau yncwmpasu amrywiaeth o feysydd yn cynnwys:

Mae elfen ymchwil y prosiect yn mynd rhagddo’n dda acfe'i gwneir gan Sefydliad Bevan, sy’n hyrwyddo syniadau agweithredu dros Gymru deg. Caiff yr adroddiadcyflwyniadol cyntaf, sy’n rhoi golwg fanwl ar y newidiadauac ar bwy yr effeithiant, ei lansio ym Mae Caerdydd yngynnar eleni. Mae ail gam yr ymchwil yn mynd rhagddo,ac rydym ar hyn o bryd yn casglu adroddiadau gan boblyng Nghymru y mae newidiadau’n effeithio arnynt agostyngiadau i’r gronfa gymdeithasol. Rydym yn siaradgyda menywod beichiog ifanc am newidiadau i daliadauGrant Mamolaeth, yn ogystal â gyda phobl hŷn y maegostyngiadau i’w Taliad Tanwydd Gaeaf wedi taro arnynt.Mae’r newidiadau a’r gostyngiadau hyn yn digwydd aradeg pan fo cost byw’n cynyddu a phobl yn ei chael yngynyddol anodd i gael gwaith. Rydym eisiau gwybod sutmae’r grwpiau mwyaf bregus yn ymdopi gyda’rnewidiadau a’r gostyngiadau hyn yng ngoleuni’r hinsawddeconomaidd bresennol.

CYFRYNGAU CYMDEITHASOL

‘Cyfryngau cymdeithasol ywunrhyw fath o gyfryngau ar‐leinsy’n galluogi cyfathrebu dwyffordd, yn wahanol i gyfryngautraddodiadol sy’n cyflwynocynnwys ond nad yw’n galluogi

darllenwyr/gwylwyr/gwrandawyr i gymryd rhan wrth greuneu ddatblygu’r cynnwys. Tuag at ddiwedd 2010, fel rhano fy niploma CIPR, fe wnes arolygu aelodaeth CHC i ganfodi ba raddau yr oeddent yn defnyddio cyfryngau cymdeithasolfel dull cyfathrebu dwyffordd. Flwyddyn yn ddiweddarach,ailymwelais â’r sector i weld os yw gweithgaredd wedinewid. Dyma grynodeb o fy nghanfyddiadau:

DefnyddYn 2010 dim ond 44% o aelodau oedd yn defnyddiocyfryngau cymdeithasol, gyda’r mwyafrif ohonynt yn eiddefnyddio mewn ffordd debyg i’w gwefan – fel cyfrwngdarlledu a heb ymwneud â chyfathrebu dwy ffordd. Fewnes hefyd arolygu nifer o elusennau yng Nghymru achanfod fod 88% o’r rhai a ymatebodd yn defnyddiocyfryngau cymdeithasol fel sianel gyfathrebu ddwy ffordd.Mae’n amlwg roedd gan y sector lawer o waith i ddal lan!

Ddeuddeg mis yn ddiweddarach ac mae newid mawr ynamlwg. Yn ôl fy nghanfyddiadau ar ddiwedd 2011,ymatebodd 80% o aelodau eu bod yn awr yn defnyddiocyfryngau cymdeithasol ar gyfer ymgysylltu dwy ffordd.

Faint o amser mae aelodau yn ei dreulio bob dydd ar ycyfryngau cymdeithasol?Mae faint o amser a dreulir ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasolhefyd wedi cynyddu. Mae mwyafrif yr aelodau’n awr yn eiddefnyddio am rhwng 10 – 30 munud y dydd yn hytrachna 0‐10 munud y llynedd. A yw’r ddadl fod cyfryngaucymdeithasol yn llyncu amser yn dal yn wir? Yn fy marn i,y rhan sy’n mynd â’r amser yw sefydlu’r llwyfannaucymdeithasol a sicrhau bod strategaeth a chanllawiau yn eulle ar gyfer staff. Unwaith y bydd hyn ar waith, mae’r gwaitho reoli gweithgaredd cyfryngau cymdeithasol o ddydd iddydd yn dod yn rhan arall o’r rôl dyddiol.

Pa safleoedd cyfryngau cymdeithasol mae’ch sefydliadyn eu defnyddio?Mae cynnydd yn y defnydd o Twitter, YouTube a LinkedIn,mae Facebook wedi aros yn gyson a defnydd o flogiauwedi gostwng. Mae’n bwysig cofio nad ydych angenpresenoldeb ar bob safle – dylech fod yn sicr pwy ydycheisiau eu targedu ac ymchwilio pa un sydd fwyafperthnasol i’ch sefydliad. Mae’n llawer mwy manteisiol iwneud un yn dda na’u gwneud i gyd rywsut rywsut.

Beth yw’r prif resymau am ddefnyddio cyfryngaucymdeithasol?Mae’r prif resymau dros ddefnyddio cyfryngau cymdeithasolhefyd wedi newid dros y flwyddyn... Mae mwy o aelodau yn eiddefnyddio i hysbysu’r cyfryngau am stori neu fel dull monitro.

Cryfhau cyfathrebuMae nifer yr aelodau sydd â strategaethau cyfathrebuhefyd wedi cynyddu o 56% yn 2011 i 78% yn 2012. Maehynny’n galonogol iawn, ac mae nifer yr aelodau sy’nintegreiddio cyfryngau cymdeithasol yn eu strategaethcyfathrebu wedi bron ddyblu dros y flwyddyn ddiwethaf.Mae hyn yn allweddol i lwyddiant gan na ddylai cyfryngaucymdeithasol gael eu gweld fel dull cyfathrebu sy’n sefyllwrth eu hunain ond fel rhywbeth sy’n gwella dulliaucyfathrebu eraill.

Gyda’r fframwaith rheoleiddiol newydd ar gyfer ein sector, nifu llywodraethiant da erioed mor bwysig. Rhai o nodweddionllywodraethiant da yw bod yn gyfranogol, atebol, tryloyw,ymatebol, effeithiol, effeithlon a chynhwysol a gall cyfryngaucymdeithasol ein helpu i gyflawni’r nodweddion hyn.

Faint o weithiau ydych chi wedi clywed aelod o staff yndweud “mae tenantiaid yn ganolog i bopeth a wnawn”?Er mwyn cyfathrebu ac ymgysylltu’n effeithiol gydathenantiaid, mae’n rhaid i ni fod yn cymryd rhan yn ysgyrsiau y maent yn eu cael – lle bynnag mae hynny.

Bydd lle bob amser ar gyfer sianeli cyfathrebu traddodiadolond gyda datblygiadau mewn technoleg (a thechnolegsymudol), pwysau ariannol i wneud mwy gyda llai a ffocwscynyddol ar lywodraethu da, ni all cyfryngau cymdeithasolond ein helpu i gyflawni amcanion ein sefydliadau a gwellaein cyfathrebu.

Does dim dau amdani, mae cyfryngau cymdeithasol yma iaros ac mae’n bwysig ein bod yn eu coleddu – cytunodd100% o ymatebwyr.’

Diweddariad Moneyline CymruMae Moneyline Cymru yn gynllun cyllid dim‐er‐elw asefydlwyd ac a ran‐ariannir gan gymdeithasau tai. SefydlwydMoneyline i helpu cwsmeriaid oedd yn methu cael mynediadi gredyd o allfannau prif ffrwd, gyda llawer eisoes yndefnyddio benthycwyr carreg drws llog uchel. Drwy bumcangen stryd fawr yng Nghwmbran, Pontypridd, Casnewydd,Caerdydd a Phen‐y‐bont ar Ogwr, mae Moneyline Cymruwedi cwblhau dros 7,500 benthyciad hyd yma.• Mae Moneyline Cymru wedi benthyca £3.625m i

gwsmeriaid na fyddai’n gallu cael mynediad ifenthyciadau gan fanciau prif ffrwd.

• Mae cwsmeriaid wedi agor dros 3,840 o gyfrifon cyniloa pharhau i gynilo ar sail wythnosol. Maentrhyngddynt wedi cynilo cyfanswm o £366,000.

• Mae cwsmeriaid yn adneuo mwy na £34,000 i gyfrifoncynilo bob mis.

• Amcangyfrifir eu bod wedi arbed £2.18m mewn llogauar ddyledion hyd yma*

Wythnos Ynni FawrCymerodd cymdeithasau tai o bob rhan o Gymru ran ynyr Wythnos Ynni Fawr ym mis Ionawr. Nid yw dogfen ymgynghori dêl werdd ac oblygiadcwmnïau ynni’r Adran Ynni a Newid Hinsawdd (DECC) ynymchwilio’n llawn y rôl y gall y sector tai cymdeithasol eichwarae yn y rhaglen a gellid dadlau ei bod yn codi mwy ogwestiynau nac o atebion. Un peth sy’n sicr yw y lansiwydyr ymgynghoriad yn dilyn y cyhoeddiad ar 31 Hydref 2011y caiff cyfraddau Cymhorthdal Cyflenwi Trydan ei ostwngyn sylweddol iawn a hynny ar rybudd byr iawn. Cafoddhyn effaith sylweddol ar osod mwy o gyfarpar PV solar yny sector tai cymdeithasol yng Nghymru a bydd llawer yndadlau ei fod wedi dylanwadu ar hyder y sector ymmholisi DECC, ac wedi rhoi cyd‐destun pwysig ar gyferdadleuon am ddosbarthiad teg cymhorthdal ameffeithiolrwydd ynni.

Mae CHC wedi ymateb i’r ymgynghoriad ac wedipwysleisio’r neges fod angen i’r cymhorthdal ar gyfereffeithiolrwydd ynni gael ei ddosbarthu’n deg yn dilynbwriadau i eithrio rhan o’r oblygiad cwmni ynni ar gyfertenantiaid tai cymdeithasol. Mae ein sector yn darparucartrefi i rai o’r bobl fwyaf agored i niwed mewncymdeithas sy’n agored i dlodi tanwydd ac a fydd yn taluam yr oblygiad drwy eu biliau tanwydd. Bydd CHC yngweithio’n agos gyda DECC i alw am i’r amodau cywir fodar waith fel y gall y sector tai cymdiethasol gael mynediadi'r rhaglen yn y cyflyrau gorau posibl.

GWLEIDYDDIAETH

Credwn y bydd dull blaengar sy’n defnyddio potensial ysector dim‐am‐elw yng Nghhymru yn helpu i leihau’rdifrod posibl a achosir gan doriadau i wasanaethaucyhoeddus megis tai, gofal, cymorth ac adfywio.Dymunwn weld llywodraeth leol a’r sector dim‐am‐elw yncydweithio i wella darpariaeth ac ansawdd tai ac i sicrhaufod gwasanaethau o fudd i gymunedau ym mhob rhan oGymru. Geilw CHC ar bob ymgeisydd llywodraeth leol iweithio gyda'r sector ar dair blaenoriaeth allweddol:

1Gweithredu i gynyddu nifer a gwella taifforddiadwy: Gyda 91,000 o bobl yng Nghymru arrestri aros tai cymdeithasol, gallai’r amcangyfrif o

26,000 o dai gwag hirdymor fod yn rhan o’r datrysiad i’rbroblem. Mae nifer o enghreifftiau o arfer da ar drawsawdurdodau lleol ac mae’n rhaid rhannu cynlluniaullwyddiannus ar draws ffiniau siriol gydag anogaeth agweithredu i sicrhau y deuir â chartrefi gwag yn ôl iddefnydd.

Rydym hefyd yn adnewyddu ein cais i awdurdodau lleolddynodi tir addas y maent yn berchen arno a all fod argael ar gyfer tai fforddiadwy. Drwy weithio mewnpartneriaeth gydag awdurdodau lleol, gallwn ostwnggwaith ofer ac osgoi dyblygu.

2Gweithredu ar adfywio: Gall awdurdodau lleolddilyn arweiniad y sector tai wrth weithredu'rpecyn cymorth ar draws pob darpariaeth

gwasanaeth cyhoeddus, fydd yn cynnig mwy o werth amy ‘Bunt Gymreig’ ac yn agor cyfleoedd ar gyfer cwmnïau

bach gan gefnogi cyflogaeth leol a chyfleoedd hyfforddiantyn ogystal â mentrau cymdeithasol yng Nghymru.

Mae gan CHC ymrwymiad hefyd i ymestyn MoneylineCymru ar draws Cymru er mwyn cefnogi mwy o boblmewn angen ariannol a sicrhau fod gwasanaethau yn caelmynediad i wasanaethau sy’n addas i’w hanghenion yncynnwys cyfrifon banc sylfaenol, cyngor arian abenthyciadau fforddiadwy.

3Gweithredu i ddarparu gwell gofal a cymhorth:Gall llywodraeth leol weithio gydag asiantaethauGofal a Thrwsio i ddarparu gwasanaethau gwell i

bobl hŷn agored i niwed, ac mae argaeledd cyllid i helpu’rrhai y mae eu cartrefi mewn cyflwr gwael yn un bwlchsydd angen ei drin. Lle na fedrir canfod cyllid grant, gallBenthyciadau Arbrisiant Eiddo roi rhwyd ddiogelwch achynnig ffordd flaengar ac effeithiol o wneud y defnyddgorau o arian cyhoeddus drwy roi benthyciadau ynhytrach na grantiau. Mae angen chwistrelliad o gylliddechreuol ar gyfer hyn ond gellir ei ailgylchu wedyn isicrhau cyllid cynaliadwy ar gyfer trwsio cartrefi gwael argyfer pobl hŷn yn yr hirdymor.

SAFBWYNT AELOD

Fy nau gamgymeriad oedd llunio rhywbeth heb ofyn idenantiaid beth oeddent ei eisiau, a chreu rhywbeth oeddyn rhoi rheolaeth lwyr i’r sefydliad. Ugain mlynedd ynddiweddarach ac mae’r byd wedi newid. Yn 1992 nidoedd unrhyw wefannau a dim e‐bost, nawr maent ymmhob man yn y cartref a’r gwaith. Fodd bynnag, maenewid yn parhau; caiff gwefannau eu gweld yn gynyddolfel storfeydd sefydlog, gweddol gorfforaethol ar gyfergwybodaeth a hunanhyrwyddo ac mae cyfryngaucymdeithasol wedi cymryd drosodd fel y dull ar gyferdialog, syniadau a chysylltu.

Mae’r byd corfforaethol hefyd wedi deall y tueddiad.Derbyniodd Coca Cola 270,000 ymweliad i’w wefan mewnblwyddyn ond mae 38,000,000 o ddefnyddwyr Facebook wedihoffi ei dudalen. Mae hyn yn golygu y caiff pob cyhoeddiada wneir gan Coca Cola eu derbyn ar gyfrifiaduron, iPodsneu ffonau 38,000,000 o bobl ym mhedwar ban byd. Ynychwanegol, gall y 38,000,000 o bobl hynny roi sylwadauar y cyhoeddiad neu ei rannu gyda’u rhwydwaithffrindiau. Mae gwefannau’n costio miloedd o bunnau i'wdatblygu. Mae Facebook, Twitter ac ati am ddim.

Mae Newydd wedi mynd ati o ddifrif i gydio yn y chwyldrocyfryngau cymdeithasol a’i ddefnyddio fel elfen allweddolo’n gwaith cyswllt tenantiaid. Mae’n amlwg fod gan gyfryngaucymdeithasol swyddogaeth marchnata ond i ni mae hefydyn ymwneud â bod yn agored, tryloyw a hygyrch.

Fe fethodd fy syniad am strwythur ymgyfraniad tenantiaidyn y 1990au oherwydd bod pobl eisiau mynd ymlaengyda’u bywydau a dim eisiau dod i gyfarfodydd. Foddbynnag mae’r bobl hynny’n aml yn hapus i roi barn drwydeipio brawddeg neu ddwy wrth iddynt aros am fws neueistedd adref. I ni mae hynny mor werthfawr â chyfrannumewn cyfarfod.

Gwyddom y byddwn yn derbyn rhai negeseuon y byddai'nwell gennym beidio eu cael ar ein safle ond drwy ymatebiddynt yn gadarnhaol credwn y bydd yn ein rhoi mewngolau gwell nag anwybyddu neu fygu sylwadau. Rydymwedi rhoi’r gorau i reoli a’i gyflwyno i’n ffrindiau a’n

dilynwyr, gan gadw hawliau golygyddol yn unig os oesangen i ni ddileu deunydd sy’n peri tramgwydd. Maeadborth yn gyflym ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasol ac rydymwedi troi cwynion yn ganmoliaeth drwy ymateb yn gyflym.

Yn ogystal â chyfrifon Facebook a Twitter Newydd, maegen i fy nghyfrif gwaith fy hun hefyd ac yn cochi ychydigwrth ddweud fod gennyf dros 300 o ffrindiau’n cynnwysPrif Weinidog Cymru a llawer o denantiaid. Mae cyswlltreal ac ystyrlon gyda thenantiaid bob amser yn galed osoes gennych ddyddiadur llawn gan ei fod yn aml yncynnwys teithio a threfnu dyddiadau. Fodd bynnag, drwyddefnyddio Facebook a Twitter rwy'n medru postionewyddion a syniadau mewn munud neu ddau ac yn caeladborth cyflym iawn gan bobl.

Mae cyfleoedd rhwydweithio sylweddol ar gyfer tenantiaidhefyd. Gall tenantiaid ymuno mewn trafodaeth a chynnigsyniadau. Yn y ffordd yma, bu gennym denantiaid yn trafodcynghorion am wres fforddiadwy ac yn gwahodd ei gilyddi ddigwyddiadau cymunedol. Gall defnyddio cyfryngaucymdeithasol godi ofn ar rai a gall fod temtasiwn i'w reoliond yn y pendraw mae hynny'n ofer. Os oes gan boblrywbeth i’w ddweud amdanoch, byddant yn dweud hynnyac mae’n well i hynny fod ar eich safle chi lle medrwchymateb na bod ar safle na wyddoch ddim byd amdani. Fewnaethom ni a rhai eraill gydio yn y cyfryngaucymdeithasol a byddwn yn annog eraill i roi cynnig arnynt.

Roedd gennym nifer o grwpiautenantiaid ond nid oeddent yn cael eu cydlynu. Yn ufudd es ati i weithio arstrwythur, fforwm tenantiaid i gynrychioli’r holl grwpiau tenantiaid. Credaify Mwrdd newydd ei fod yn syniad da, soniwyd amdano ar draws y sectorfel ymarfer blaengar ychydig o weithiau a doedd e ddim yn gweithio.

Bydd tair o dîm CHC, Phillipa Knowles, Rhian Robinson aClaire McDougall, yn cymryd rhan yn nhaith feiciau Llundaini Baris 2012 ar gyfer Homeless International. Mae HomelessInternational yn cefnogi pobl sy’n byw mewn slymiau ynAffrica ac Asia ac yn canfod atebion parhaus i dlodi gwledig.Cynhelir y daith feiciau rhwng 26‐30 Medi 2012. Ar y daithbydd tîm CHC yn wynebu pedwar diwrnod o feicio caled igyrraedd eu cyrchfan derfynol ym Mharis –271 milltir o’rdechrau i’r diwedd! Gyda tharged i godi £4500 rhyngddyntbyddant yn codi ymwybyddiaeth o’u helusen yn y misoeddnesaf.
