Since more than 137 years, Lauchhammer in the south of Brandenburg belongs to GALATEA like water into a bathtub. History and pre-sent fused into a large variety of products could not have been greater.

Mineralguss – ein außergewöhnliches Material für einen außergewöhnlichen Look.

Mineralguss hat seinen Ursprung in der Natur und setzt sich im Wesentlichen aus Dolomit zusammen. Das Gestein besteht aus den Elementen Kal-zium, Magnesium und Karbonat, CaMg(CO3)2 und entstand vor über 250 Millionen Jahren, als die Erde eine Phase erhöhter vulkanischer Aktivität erlebte. Bedingt durch die metamorphen Prozesses besitzt der Dolomit ein mondänes Aussehen und hohe Festigkeit.

Heute stammen die Rohstoffe aus sorgfältig ausgewählten, zertifizierten Minen in der EU. Die Steine sind gefräst und gereinigt. Die Außenschicht der Produkte besteht aus Gelcoat, gehärtetem Harz mit Pigmenten und Quarzpartikeln. Sie ist für den Glanz und die Glätte der Oberfläche verantwort-lich. Matte Produkte werden mit derselben Technologie hergestellt, wobei das feine seidenmatte Erscheinungsbild des Endproduktes durch unterschiedliche Arten von Gelcoat und besonders behandelte Herstellungsformen hervorgerufen wird.

Mineral cast – a remarkable material to create an exceptional look!

Mineral cast has its origin in nature and consists primarily of dolomite. The stone is composed of elements like calcium, magnesium and carbonate CaMg(CO2)3 and was born 250 million years ago where the earth experienced a phase of volcanic activity. Through the metamorphic process the dolomite has a very sophisticated look and also very high strength.

Today, the raw materials come from certified and very well selected mines in Europe. The stones are milled and purified. The smooth outer layer of the finished mineral cast products consists of Gelcoat, hardened resin pigments and quartz particles. This mixture generates the smooth and very glossy surface. Matt products are produced by the same technology whereby the fine silk-matt surface is generated by different Gelcoats and special treated molds.
