Comprised of 645+ acres of lush aspen groves, rolling hills, open meadows and numerous ponds, Silvertree
Ranch offers diverse habitat, which attracts big game species in great numbers throughout the year.
The ranch ranges in elevation from 8,000 – 8,600 ft providing stunning views from the upper elevations and
valuable food sources for the resident elk and deer populations in the lower meadow portions.
An established network of trails and dirt roads allow for ease of access throughout the ranch and serve as travel
corridors for the big game on the property. The timber elements of the ranch have been carefully managed for the past 20 years to remove older trees
at the end of their life cycle providing for an abundance of new growth. Several areas that were historically comprised of sagebrush have been cleared
and planted with native grasses providing protein-rich food sources for wildlife. Hay production is subject to precipitation with an annual average
harvest of approximately 250 round bails.

access to the ranch is easy year round via Cottonwood Pass to nearby Carbondale and in the non-winter
months to Gypsum and the Vail Valley. While the rural setting provides peaceful seclusion, it is less
than 30 minutes’ drive time to all necessary services including multiple hospitals, a wide range of dining

The world-renowned resort community of Aspen is less than an hour drive from the ranch
providing access to exquisite dining, exceptional music and entertainment and a multitude of
recreational pursuits.

Regional Airport. Private air travel is easily accommodated at each of these locations as well. Denver

the south are nothing short of spectacular; rolling
hills in the foreground give way to snow-capped
peaks to the south including Mount Sopris, Capital
Peak, Snowmass Mountain and a host of nearby towering peaks. The home, built in 2011, is in like-
new condition and features numerous upgrades including a Viking range, as well as exquisite tile
and granite throughout the kitchen and custom wood accents. The home features 3 bedrooms and
3.5 baths upstairs with a large adjoining bunkroom and bathroom, for a total of 5 bedrooms and 4.5

In addition to the home, the ranch includes a spacious 3 bay
barn with partially finished space upstairs. The barn is currently
utilized to store snowmobiles, off-road vehicles, snowplows and
other equipment used on the ranch. Above ground gasoline and
diesel tanks are in place adjacent to the barn.
The ranch also features a secondary storage barn as well as
an open-sided barn, pen and corral for the resident horses.
Seldom does a ranch of this size hold the huntable number of elk that Silvertree
Ranch does. Over the last 20 years, the ranch has been transformed from a good
hunting property into an exceptional one through thoughtful habitat enhancement
projects and a carefully managed hunting program. Aside from the elk, solid numbers
of mule deer and black bear also use the ranch on a regular basis.
The owners of Silvertree Ranch have used the ranch as their exclusive family
hunting retreat, they have not allowed any commercial outfitting and few outside
guests. On average two to three elk are harvested per year, this conservative harvest
approach has paid dividends in creating a place for elk to take refuge. Over the last
five years the owners have elected to use archery gear and have moved to harvesting
only mature bull elk; this has also led to higher elk densities onsite.
As with any ranch, the elk number fluctuates, but as currently managed,
the elk hunter has multiple opportunities on bull elk on
a given hunt. It is not uncommon to have ten to fifteen
mature bull elk on the ranch at any one time. These elk are
broken up into small groups allowing the hunter several
hunt choices based on daily conditions. For the stand
hunter, the elk can be reliably hunted over three different
water sources. Elk herds totaling 100 to 200 head have
been photographed feeding in the “big meadow” in the
mornings and evenings.
The mule deer and black bear hunting at Silvertree should not be overlooked.
Although present in lesser numbers than elk, there are always deer around the ranch,
and the trophy quality can be exceptional. Deer over 200” have been harvested on the
ranch by the current owners. Black bears have been taken and are readily observed
and captured on film from the various game cameras stationed around the ranch.
Silvertree Ranch is located in Colorado’s game management unit 444. This unit has
multiple seasons for elk, deer and black bear. The owners have not had need to apply
for landowner tags, but based on size and animal use days, it is believed the ranch
would qualify for multiple tags.

known by outdoor enthusiast around the country. Whether one is an avid downhill skier, mountain
biker, angling enthusiast, kayaker or any number of other outdoor pursuits, it would be hard to find an
area with more options.
For the angling enthusiast, there is the choice of technical tailwater fishing on the nearby Frying Pan,
to the famed Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers to the south and west. To the east and north lies the trout-
filled Eagle River and Upper Colorado. For the skiing enthusiast there is some of the most revered terrain
in the lower 48 including Aspen-Snowmass, Buttermilk, Aspen Mountain as well as Vail and Beaver Creek to the east.
