DEPUTY PRINCIPAL REPORT
Debating We are very excited to be participating in a Debating Competition this term against Woolooware Public School. We have two teams in the competition. One team is made up of students from Year 5 and the other is made up of students from Year 6. Our first day of competition is tomorrow. Our students are loving the experience and are developing their debating skills. The students participated in a debating workshop at Bonnet Bay. This gave them the opportunity to develop their understanding of the debating process. A huge thank you to Miss Rennie and Mrs Bosden who have been training our two teams.
Lost Property We have a brand new tracksuit top in Lost Property and - it doesn’t have a name on it! Our lost property is currently overflowing with items of clothing. Every week we work hard to try and return as many items as possible. It is difficult to locate the owners when items are not labelled with your child’s name or the name is very difficult to read. Please help by checking all items of your child’s clothing to ensure they are clearly labelled. Please help us by encouraging your child / children to take responsibility for their belongings.
Bike Safety Guide lines at school At Burraneer Bay Public School only students in Years 3-6 are permitted to ride their bike to and
from school providing their parent / carer considers they are responsible riders, and able to travel
independently to and from school .

the school grounds.
Storing their bicycle in the designated area after 8.40am and prior to the 9:10am bell.
Students will not be permitted to collect their bicycle from the designated area until after 3.10pm.
Bicycles and helmets are brought and stored at school at the owner's risk.
It is not considered safe for children aged between 10 and 12 years old (and younger) to ride on the
road. Scooters and skateboards are not allowed to be ridden to school.
Election Day Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall The P&C have organised an Election Day BBQ and Cake Stall on Saturday May 18th.
