PRINCIPAL NEWS

Terania District Cross Country

The Terania District Cross Country was held at Caniaba Public School last Friday. All students tried hard on a very difficult

course. Well done to all our students and especially the placegetters listed below in the table. Thank you to the parents and carers

for transporting the students. Our school won the overall point score and tied for 1st place in the handicap trophy. An amazing

achievement. Students with an asterix (*) beside their name in the table have qualified to compete at the Northern Rivers Zone

Cross Country Championships to be held at Corndale on Friday 31 May 2019.

Canteen and Assembly recommences this week

The canteen and assembly recommence tomorrow.

NAPLAN

These assessments will take place next week. Tuesday will be the Writing assessment. Wednesday will be the Reading assessment.

Thursday will be the Language Conventions assessment. Friday will be the Numeracy assessment.

It is important that students attend school during week 3. Please do not exert pressure on the students sitting the assessments

during this time, I simply ask the students to try their best.

Mothers Day

Our annual Mothers Day stall will be held tomorrow. Children are able to purchase a gift for their mum or grandmother at a cost

of $5 each. The event is being organised by the P&C. To all the mum’s, have an enjoyable and relaxing Sunday!

GRIP Leadership

Today our year 6 students attended a leadership conference in Lismore with hundreds of other year 6 students from across the

region. They learnt some invaluable skills, which they will bring back to Blakebrook to help them fulfil their leadership roles at

school for the remainder of the year.

Terania Girls Softball game

On Tuesday 9 of our girls travelled to Kyogle for a softball game in the NSWPSSA Knockout competition. A lot of these girls have

never played softball before so I congratulate them on giving it a try. They lost their game but learnt lots and enjoyed the day.

Thank you to the parents assisting with transportation.

Terania Soccer games

Yesterday 8 of our girls and 5 of our boys travelled to Dunoon to play soccer games against Bexhill in the NSWPSSA Knockout

Competition. Great sportsmanship and enthusiasm was displayed. Well done! We appreciate Lochie helping with transport &

Supervision and thank you to the parent drivers.

Results: Girls Round 1 v’s Bexhill won 11-0; Round 2 v’s Kyogle lost 5-0
