NOTES FROM THE GARDEN
The early arrival of frosts has affected the tomatoes and
the sweet potato vines in our garden, however the frosts
have only been light so no serious harm has been done.
The spinach has continued producing every week and the
school has taken advantage of the plentiful supply to
cook each week.
The strawberries have been very popular and the children
have urged us to plant a whole bed for next year.
It’s a pleasure to see all the other plants growing so well.
In a short while we will have both cauliflower & broccoli
to harvest.
On Monday this week we received some of the best
rainfall for ages. However with the good comes the bad.
On Monday out top temperature only reached 13
degrees … this must be nearly a record!
Best wishes to all.
From Marion and John

Peer Support Lesson 6
This week the focus is on step 2 of the model, Plan. In Peer Support children learn the need to develop a range of coping strategies and be creative in drawing on these when planning responses. Responses include persevering, seeing the positive side to situations and engaging in activities they enjoy as a distraction for a short time.
Encourage your child to talk with you about strategies they could use as difficulties arise.
Lesson 7 This week we further develop the range of strategies we can use in challenging situations. This session focuses on step 3 of the model, Proceed. In order to learn from situations and move forward children need to go beyond thinking of strategies and action them. Children recognise despite the use of a range of strategies, sometimes they cannot change the situation. At these times, it is important to accept the situation and move forward with a positive outlook.
A note from Mrs Skorjenko, 1-3 class
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Thank you for the prompt return of the green parent & teacher meeting notes. P/T meetings are held so we can discuss the report
and to share your child’s portfolio.
If you don’t know anything about the green note, please let me know!
Thank you, Lois :)
