The MG Birthday Party at Rosie McCaf-frey’s on July 14th of this year was as successful as many of them have been in the past! We thank Bonnie and Mark Mater for arranging for the reser-vation and the cake, and making sure it was a great success. After we or-dered our food, our Chairman, Terri Bounty, called a short business meeting to review and vote on the newly updated By-Laws. After some discussion, they were voted on and passed by the members in attendance. Our food arrived in stages, but our waitress was very pleasant, and the kitchen took care of our orders as quickly as they could. We all had a good time visiting with friends, some we don’t see as often as we would like. Following our meal, Bonnie, Mark and Jane cut and served the cake, which was a nice treat! The cake was well decorated, including the MG logo in the center. There were no MG cars in attendance, the 109 degree heat kept the MG’s at home and mem-bers driving air conditioned cars! Roadrunners in attendance were as follows, Mickey and Stella Saperstein, Ralph and Christine Cacace, Danny and Barbara Young, Sherwood and Jane Parker, Phil and Cyntia Dooley, Ed Battershell and Gloria McNeil, Mike and Barb Grogan, Gra-ham and Susan McDonald, Don and Ginger Potten-ger, Terri Bounty, Ettoree Balletto and Wendy Saint, Norma Kafer and Jim Gordon, Mark and Bonnie Mater, Wyatt Tichenor, Debbie and Warren Kosters, Ron and Jean Coats and their daughter Nikki, Frank Diaz, Ken and Ginny Martin and Dave and Gretchen Boyer. That’s 37 members in attendance this year!

1952 MG TDC Mark II

I received this car from my parents estate, Barbara and Orville Granquist. Orville bought the car on Sept. 17, 1973 from Charles Roush. It was restored by Dave’s Import Service to original condition inside and out September 6, 1990. Driven 205 miles. Kept in parents garage. Car returned to Dave’s Import by me on Nov. 9, 2017 to get the car back on the road. Service at Dave’s complete with mileage from restoration at 581. New tires all around. Although we love the car, a two-seater is just too small for our family.

Asking $18,500 Contact info: [email protected] or 480-595-8120, our home phone. Ask for Dan. Car is garaged in central Phoenix at my parents home. Interested buyers can contact us to make arrangements to see and drive the car.

GoF West 2019

Our next event is GoF West 2019 being held in beautiful Prescott AZ., August 12-16. It will proba-bly never be this close again. Consider registering even if your car isn’t running, it’s a lot of fun, you'll see lots of MGs, and you will be inspired to get your MG on the road again. You can enter items in the Models, Photos, Sewn Goods and MG crafts. You can also par-ticipate in the Car-Less Funkhana. There will be two Tech Sessions, one by George Bean on Making sense of the MG electrical Wiring Code, and one by our own Doug Pelton on Restoration Tips: How to Save Time, Mon-ey and Aggravation. Other Tech Sessions will include “An Arizona History Adventure” by the Sharlot Hall Muse-um, a tour of the Elks Opera House and a Family Tea, To attend any of these sessions you do have to register for the event. We are still in need of volunteers to help the AZ MG Club with the various events.

We Hope To See Lots of Roadrunners at this

event!

Roadrunners, here is the registration form for GoF West 2019 that is being held in Pres-cott AZ this year. We hope a lot of you will sign up for the GoF this year as it is right in our backyard. This is a good way to get our cars out in public view.

Hello Members, I volunteered to coordinate the solicitation of auction items for this year’s GoF in Prescott, AZ August 12 – August 16! A lot of planning and coordination has gone into this GoF, the venue is great, and the outlook is that it should be a great one for all of us. We on the plan-ning committee hope that Arizona is well represented. I’m sure that I don’t need to remind you that the auc-tion is one of the mandatory events for any GoF. This auction allows us to take care of any expenses that have not been covered by the income for the event, and, again, hopefully, gives us “seed money” for next year’s event. I can’t tell you how many times in the past few years that the Steering Committee members and Chair-persons of the GoFs were crossing their fingers hoping that the auction turned out well so the finances would balance in a positive direction. But it has worked out each year, thanks to your generous contributions—Thank You! Well, it’s time to ask for your contributions of auction items again. We could have used a few more items last year. I’m asking if you would consider contributing a bit more than you may have in the past. Go into your garage and find some of those MG items that have been gathering dust that you will probably never use and help us turn them into cash for the GoF. How about those great posters that have been rolled up for the past 20 years? And that extra set of Whitworth wrenches that you have been saving for when your others wear out? There are probably a lot of items that you have that others don’t but would like to have if only they could find one. However, we can’t use old greasy chassis parts. If you have good, clean, serviceable items, please consider donating them. Items don’t necessarily have to be MG related for the attendees to find value in them. If you do have some items to donate to this worthy cause, please let me know by e-mail ([email protected]) what the items are and bring them along to the GoF, or send them to Ken Martin 4846 E. Indianola Ave. Phoenix, AZ. 85018. (I am moving to a new house shortly, thus I can’t receive shipments.) I will still be tracking each item(s) by the registrant’s name. Even if you can’t attend, we sure could use your items. Let’s make this event one that provides a lot of fun for the attendees and that keeps our finances in the black. Hope to see you there. Thank you, Dave Boyer Auction Coordinator GoF West 2019

Take in your old shoes and they will be done in a week. Smart money says take in a drum and they will arc the brakes to your drum. I have found very reasonable pricing and service for powder coating at: Affordable Powder Coating. They did a mesh grille for the TC for $40. They have a sepa-rate company at the same address for Ceramic coatings (like Jet-Hot). They did my Header, Header pipe Muffler and tail pipe for $212 and it was ready in 5 days.
