Is it something you hide, or simply a part of your life? It is definitely not something to flaunt; that would be a perversion. But do our friends and neighbors experience us as a person, a family, a people of prayer? Peter tells us that we suffer so that our faith may be genuine and lead to praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ appears. How can we live our lives in this way? How can we witness in the midst of suffering that we live in hope of consolation and comfort? There are many reasons today to be pessimistic. But the Christian trusts that all is in God’s care. In our own lives and in our society we can be a source of hope rather than despair. A sign of this hope is the joy we express. Peter conveyed it through his praise; how do we as individuals and as a community embody the joy of the resurrection in the midst of our troubles? Finally, the gospel tells of the mission of forgiveness entrusted to the apostles. That same mission has been passed down to us. We are a focus of forgiveness in this world. We readily forgive one another. We are open to those who are alienated, and we offer them God’s reconciliation. We are called to be signs of forgiveness in our world; we are not here to judge, but to extend to all the wonderful forgiveness of God upon which the good news is founded.

Lectura, as de Hoy Hechos 2:42-47

Salmo 118:1, 2-4, 13-15, 22-24 1 Pedro 1:3-9 Juan 20:19-31

The example of these early Christians in the first reading is very powerful. These people trusted the

gospel to such an extent that they left their individual lives behind, pooled their resources, shared all things in

common, and withdrew on the basis of need. They ate their meals in common and shared daily in the breaking

of the bread prayers.

While today, for the most part, only religious orders follow the lifestyle of these first Christians; we as a

church are still defined by our prayer and by the Eucharist. The Eucharist is possibly the most powerful at-

traction toward the church. Again and again catechumens and candidates testify that they were attracted to us

first through the atmosphere of prayer they found in our churches and through our celebration of the Eucha-

rist.

Let us ask ourselves about our prayer life. We do not pray to attract people to the gospel, but that is cer-

tainly a factor in people’s conversions. Are you a person of prayer? Is it something you hide, or simply a part of

your life? It is definitely not something to flaunt; that would be a perversion. But do our friends and neighbors

experience us as a person, a family, a people of prayer?

Peter tells us that we suffer so that our faith may be genuine and lead to praise, glory, and honor when

Jesus Christ appears. How can we live our lives in this way? How can we witness in the midst of suffering

that we live in hope of consolation and comfort? There are many reasons today to be pessimistic.

But the Christian trusts that all is in God’s care. In our own lives and in our society we can be a source of hope

rather than despair. A sign of this hope is the joy we express. Peter conveyed it through his praise; how do we

as individuals and as a community embody the joy of the resurrection in the midst of our troubles?

Finally, the gospel tells of the mission of forgiveness entrusted to the apostles. That same mission has

been passed down to us. We are a focus of forgiveness in this world. We readily forgive one another. We are

open to those who are alienated, and we offer them God’s reconciliation. We are called to be signs of forgiveness

in our world; we are not here to judge, but to extend to all the wonderful forgiveness of God upon which the

good news is founded.

Con’t from pg. 1

Definitivamente no

Estamos abiertos a

ALLELUIA HE IS RISEN!

Happy Easter once more and Happy Divine Mercy Sunday. Today we celebrate with great joy for our God

the Almighty has shown us mercy elevating us from our fallen state back to the dignity of His sons and

daughters. Therefore, don’t be afraid, just trust in God and He will see us through. I miss you all. I am

praying that the Risen Lord keeps you all safe and strong always.

I thank you immensely for staying connected to the parish through the social media. I am grateful for

your constant support to the parish. I am indebted to all who in spite of the tough times, still continue to

send in their financial contributions to deep the parish afloat. May your purses never run dry.

May God’s mercy shine upon you and your family and fill you all with His Easter blessings of peace, love

and joy.

Yours in Christ Jesus,

Fr. Henry Tutuwan
