FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Today, after the 10:45 a.m. service, we will have our New Disciples Fellowship and Ministry Fair. We invite all of our New Disciples that have united with First Calvary over the past 6 months to join us in the Fellowship Hall for this event. This will be a great opportunity for you to find out more about our ministries and how you can become involved (yes, all FC Ministries should be represented with information to share). Special thanks to our Hospitality Ministry for their organization of today’s Fellowship.
It is still Womanhood Month at First Calvary…”Women Journeying to the Excellent Way”! As we reflect over the theme for the Month, I would remind us of other Women in the Bible that have been on the Journey of Faith…. Mary, the Mother of Jesus; Queen Esther; Deborah the Judge; Ruth and Naomi; Mary and Martha, the sisters; all Biblical examples of Women on this great Journey…seeking our Lord and Savior. We can look even closer to home for women of faith as well….our wives, mothers, aunts, God-mothers, sisters, grandmothers…women all over our church and community that are also on this Journey….young and not so young…making a difference in Excellence for the Kingdom. I encourage us to seek these women out and acknowledge what they do.
Ladies, young and mature, plan to attend the Hour of Power on Friday, where our very own Minister Micara Sessoms will preach a “lunchtime Word”. On Saturday, it’s the women’s time for spiritual edification and enlightenment at the Women’s Simulcast with Priscilla Shirer (young ladies/teens-we need you to be there too!). Sisters, come out and be blessed…and bring somebody! We ask that the women of the church sign up and show up! (Sign up in the Vestibule or the Atrium today!) Then, on NEXT Sunday, we will celebrate our Annual Womanhood Sunday, with Guest Minister Dr. C. Lyn Brinkley from Campbell University. Ladies, wear your shades of purple….and men, we can support with some purple ourselves! The entire First Calvary church family (men, women, boys and girls) should be in prayer for the success of our Womanhood Month! (Also, calling all Mature Adults, age 60 and up…sign up for the next Senior Lunch and Learn on April 28th! We will be looking for you…and looking for a packed house!) The women of First Calvary are truly an integral part of the growth of this body which helps us continue to be AN EXCITING CHURCH EXCITED ABOUT ITS MISSION!

April- GROWTH FOR THE JOURNEY
Pray for maturity and growth in faith for Pastor Davis,
Mrs. Davis, the Davis Family, AND all of FCBC.
THE DEACON’S MESSAGE
It doesn’t always rain every day, but sometimes, rain showers can last weeks. Life can be like that. You run into some clouds that hide the sun. Your life is overcast with days that seem less stellar than others, and getting through them can be considered a victory in itself. Just because the sun is hiding, it does not mean that the Son is hiding. Your hope in Jesus Christ is brighter and broader than any cloud you will encounter. Continue to put ALL of your hope and trust in Him. This is the one time where it is okay to put all of your eggs in one basket. Jesus is real and He will never fail you. Keep working hard and believe that it will all be worth it in the end. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit know what they are doing. Proverbs 3:5-6, The Message tells us to “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all.” Keep your faith. In a little while, the pulling back of the clouds will take place and you will find that you were on the right path all along because you walked with the Lord.
