The site is large and due to its slope, lends itself to the development of an amphitheater facility. It overlooks a large expanse of the community and is easily accessible to many in the region, which includes the southern suburbs of Denver. HSP undertook an analysis of the most viable amphitheater to develop for the Town of Castle Rock’s Parks and Recreation Department. The analysis include a review of the local and regional entertainment market, include all theaters, cineplexes, performing arts venues, music clubs and other amphitheaters, including Red Rocks. From this review of the competitive supply and understanding of the growing Denver market, HSP was able to determine the potential opportunities in the market for outdoor musical entertainment. HSP made a series of recommendations to the town for the project and suggested options that would both protect the community fiscally, yet also expand the cultural assets of the community.
