Initial situation

Fresh water is only available to a limited extent

Tap water is often polluted, e.g. by

chlorine

salt

heavy metals

etc.

Drinking water is already scarce and will beeven more every day.

Sometimes only untreated water is available(river, lake, reservoir, well).

Polluted water may cause illnesses or evenworse epidemics.

Fresh water of high quality is a scarce good!

Our solution: WaterBox® and CarbonAdd®

Production of top quality drinking water using simple means.

Flexible quantities possible (from 24 cbm/d up to 100,000 cbm/d)

Water treated with the Carbon Add® method completely fulfills all quality standards for drinking water.

Scientists of our partner Lavaris have developed a new compound, CarbonAdd® to treat fresh water.

CarbonAdd ®

Pure inorganic multi-component buffering system

Consisting of reactive calcium salts, sodium hydrogen carbonate, soda and calcite

Suitable for most water conditions

All ingredients occur in natural waters, are permitted for drinking water conditioning

Drinking water ingredients

Calcium

Dietary mineral, most abundant element in the human body with about 1.2 kg

Sodium

Compound of many foodstuffs (e.g. salt)

Necessary for humans to maintain the balance of the physical fluids system; for nerve & muscle functioning

Too much sodium can damage the kidneys and increases chances of high blood pressure

Sodium is essential, but the amount required is controversially discussed

Drinking water ingredients

Chloride

A chemical the human body needs for metabolism (turning food into energy)

Also helps keep the body's acid-base balance

Amount of chloride in the blood is carefully controlled by the kidneys

Bicarbonate

An alkaline, vital component of the pH-buffering-system of the human body (maintaining acid-base homeostasis)

70-75 % of CO2 in the body is converted into carbonic acid (H2CO3), which can quickly turn into bicarbonate (HCO3)

Also regulates pH-value in the small intestine

* Due to an unintentional overdose of CarbonAdd® during our pre-tests, these first results do not really display the expectedvalues. But actually that is just a matter of regulation.

It is scientifically proven that higher values of these elements are beneficial to human health

Description of the WaterBox®

The new WaterBox ® is a highly compact water treatment system whose innovation is the use of the patented CarbonAdd® process to remove inorganic impurities.

The WaterBox ® makes it possible to produce clean drinking water while being affordable for all.

The system is one of the smallest on the market and has been developed specifically for disaster areas and for development projects in consultation with UN-HABITAT.

One Water Box ® can supplyabout 2,000 people with potabledrinking water, with a capacityof 28,000 liters per day.
