Buenos Aires CampusThe University of Bologna runs a Campus in Buenos Aires which offers interdisciplinary study programmes on different subjects. Some international degree programmes in the School of Economics, Management, and Statistics or in the School of Political Sciences offer the opportunity to take the full first year in Buenos Aires. Admissions for international studentsAccess requirements, deadlines for application, admission methods, the number of places available and tuition fees vary depending on the degree programme and are published on the University Portal every year, starting from January. In some programmes the admission procedure is run by the partner Universities Consortia.The University offers specific services and detailed information for international students on how to choose, apply for and register in a degree programme.www.unibo.it/admissions

Scholarships, aid and benefitsThe University of Bologna offers to all its students scholarships, fellowships, and a wide range of aids and benefits on the basis of specific competitions. International students can apply for a study grant worth 11.000 € gross (assigned on the basis of the SAT and GRE tests) or an exemption from tuition fees (Unibo Action 1 and Unibo Action 2). The Regional Authority for the Right of Education ER.GO helps students through study grants, exemptions from tuition fees, residential and meal services, funding and aid for disabled students according to set requirements based on income and merit. The Collegio Superiore of the University offers to highly talented students free lodging, an annual grant and the exemption from university fees.Once students are enrolled they can apply for several other opportunities such as prizes, paid students collaboration, specific financial aids.! Italian University SystemEuropean credits based on student workloadAll classes and courses carry a number of European Credits (ECTS). Each credit corresponds to 25 hours of student workload (including attending classes, individual study and project work, examination time).In the University of Bologna (and in all other European universities using the ECTS), the workload of a full year of study corresponds to 60 credits. One semester of full-time study corresponds to 30 credits.

Grading systemThe Italian grading system has a minimum pass mark of 18 out of 30 and the top mark is 30 e lode (cum laude). The final mark range goes from 66 to 110 e lode (cum laude).

Academic calendarThe teaching and learning activities are scheduled in two semesters: September through December and February through May. Two exams sessions are scheduled at the end of lectures for every topic, and 1 make-up session is scheduled in September. The University has a 3-week Christmas break and a one-week Easter break; in August the University basically shuts down in terms of lectures and examinations, but the administrative offices remain open, except for a week over 15th August (bank holiday in Italy).

PhD and Third CycleThe University of Bologna, as a research University, offers more than 40 PhD programmes with a strong International dimension and with a number of them offered in partnership with International Research Networks and leading to joint, double and multiple degree. Professional Master Professional Masters are postgraduate programmes available after a first cycle or a second cycle degree, representing an ideal platform to enter the professional world. The University of Bologna has a wide, multidisciplinary choice of Professio-nal Masters which are taught in Italian, English, Spanish and other languages. Some of them are available in the Buenos Aires Campus. Academic calendarThe teaching and learning activities are scheduled in two semesters: September through December and February through May. Two exams sessions are scheduled at the end of lectures for every topic, and 1 make-up session is scheduled in September. The University has a 3-week Christmas break and a one-week Easter break; in August the University basically shuts down in terms of lectures and examinations, but the administrative offices remain open, except for a week over 15th August (bank holiday in Italy).

International students can apply for a study grant worth 11.000 € gross (assigned on the basis of the SAT and GRE tests) or an exemption from tuition fees (Unibo Action 1 and Unibo Action 2). The Regional Authority for the Right of Education ER.GO helps students through study grants, exemptions from tuition fees, residential and meal services, funding and aid for disabled students according to set requirements based on income and merit. The Collegio Superiore of the University offers to highly talented students free lodging, an annual grant and the exemption from university fees.Once students are enrolled they can apply for several other opportunities such as prizes, paid students collaboration, specific financial aids.! Since its origins in 1088, the University of Bologna has been student-centred hosting prominent figures from science and the arts.
