GENERAL INFORMATION

ADVICE & GUIDANCE: Prior to enrolment, we offer you advice and guidance for all leisure and examination courses listed in this brochure. For examination courses you will be asked to book an appointment (between June and August) for an Initial Assessment so please call 0161 419 9163 OR if you are considering enrolling on a course starting in 2015 appointments will be made between October and November.

AMENDMENTS TO COURSES; CANCELLED CLASSES; REFUNDS: From time to time Aquinas College may need to cancel or amend courses when situations arise beyond our control, such as teachers who become sick or leave our employment.

Should we have to cancel a class, every effort will be made to rearrange the class. The College operates a ‘no refund policy’ for part-attended courses. Circumstances such as illness, work commitments, holidays, relocations etc. are not considered adequate reasons to request a refund.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES: Aquinas College is committed to Equal Opportunities (policy available upon request).

FEES: Terms and conditions and a list of concessions available on page 6.

Examination course fees : These are shown against each course—payment due at enrolment. See below for details of our Instalment Scheme which is available for courses costing over £250.

Leisure/Fitness/General Interest/Languages:

Fees are variable depending upon the number of weeks in each term. Payment is due at the start of each term. Half term payments are available. A fees list is available on request.

Instalment Scheme (examination courses only): If your fee is over £250 you may be able to pay in instalments. You will be required to pay 50% of the total course fee at enrolment and the balance by standing order payments spread over no more than 5 monthly payments. There will be an administration fee added to your total fee. Please ask for details when you enrol.

Failure to pay an instalment will end the agreement and the balance remaining will become due immediately.

Similarly, if you withdraw from the course early, you are eligible for any fees unpaid and will be invoiced for that balance.

LEARNING SUPPORT:

We have a specialist member of staff who can offer advice and support on all aspects of communication and study skills along with assessments for special circumstances should extra time or special arrangements be required during examinations. Help is available at any time throughout the academic year on Monday and Tuesday evenings and is offered to any student enrolled at the Adult Education Centre, so please ask if you think you may need help.
