Recognizing our Team Celebrating five years of merger milestones In Dec. 2013, American Airlines and US Airways created the largest airline in the world. And we’ve been busy ever since. To recognize work that is spot on, we launched a new Spot On program for leaders to highlight the great work of their teams. Since its launch in 2017, team members have been recognized nearly 150,000 times. 3 It’s time to recognize. Through our new recognition programs, team members have received more than $25,000,000 in recognition since the merger. We have heroes in our midst, and that felt worthy of a new award. Since our merger, we’ve recognized 528 team members as Real American Heroes for saving a customer’s or colleague’s life, or helping in life-threatening situations. 1 4 We want to praise you. The Above & Beyond (A&B) program recognizes our team’s everyday efforts. With a few tweaks in 2016 so that more people can be recognized, team members have received $11,500,000 in A&Bs since the merger. The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious recognition at American, recognizing the best of our team for their significant contributions. To recognize work that is spot on, we launched a new Spot On program for leaders to highlight the great work of their teams. Since its launch in 2017, team members have been recognized nearly 150,000 times.3
