Special Needs

It is that time of year again! If you know that you haven’t received your

Special needs for the year of 2015/2016 please come in to see me to make

arrangements to spend this right away! You have only to the end of

March to receive these funds.

SA Stubs

Friday before Social Assistance day will be the deadline date to hand in

your Stubs, I will not issue any cheques during the week of Social

Assistance, this week is the busiest for me. If you hand your stub in the

week of SA you will receive your cheque the week after.

Appointments

I am always busy during the week doing reports and summaries of the

month and organizing previous month’s paper work so it is a lot easier if

clients would make an appointment with Bernadine so I have that time

aside for you because you are my priority.

If you require further information please do not hesitate to call and

leave a message and I can get back to you as soon as I can.

Hello Everyone!

The next GFB date is on Wednesday, March 9th AND the next one will be the week after on

Wednesday, March 16th as I will be away March 22nd - 24th then we will be falling into the

Easter holiday!

There is still no sign up sheet at the front desk due to it being super full but I do have a waiting

list that you can add your name to if you would like to do so :)

Just a friendly reminder that if bags are not picked up on the pick up date they will be given or

sold to someone else (usually the people on the waiting list). If you are unable to pick up yourself,

you can arrange for someone to pick it up for you!

I will be starting to plant in our wonderful community garden in the next little while. If anyone

would like to participate in some gardening, you are more than welcome to come on down!

Have a great weekend!

Yo Wiksas!

I hope everyone is well.

I would like to thank these people on behalf of the GN

Elder's Program for helping and doing all the fish last

weekend and this week: Leo Lawson, Brian David, Ernie

Henderson, Ernie Hanuse, Gordy Walkus, Alvin Walkus

Sr., David Schmitt, Jimmy King, Conrad Anderson, & Ellen

Paul.

Gilakasla!

The Elders have been keeping up with their Good Food

Program. This last luncheon, everyone received smoked

fish. Fish and wild game are the best types of meat to eat

if any at all.

There were a total of 18 elders present. They have

decided not to participate in the Annual Conference this

year due to various reasons. For the past 2 months it has

been a very thorough discussion as far as finding a

destination and all agreeing on it as a group. There were

a few that did not agree. But they make their decisions as

a group, not just a handful making these sorts of

decisions.

This year the Elders will travel early and head down to

Vancouver Saturday March 19 and return Wednesday

March 23. They have a couple exciting events they chose

between to attend. Their choices were: Canucks game

Saturday night against St Louis Blues or the Return to

Grace Land Elvis Presley tribute concert Tuesday night!

I have a list of the Elders that have been participating in

the group's events and, most important, fundraisers.

Here is the list for this year's trip:

1.Ernie Henderson 2. Marion 3. David 4. Sally 5. John 6. Lily 7. Janet 8. Mary Mac 9. Mable 10. Betty? 11. Kathy 12. Doug 13. Emma 14. Gertie 15. Alvin Sr. 16. Harry James 17. Mary V. 18. Bird 19. Mary H.? 20. Ernie Hanuse? 21. Paddy? 22. Nelly?

Helpers have been appointed by the group. I must

contact them all before posting names.

If you do not see your name on the list, and you wish to

go, please come a speak with me directly at the Elder's

Centre.

Don't forget!

Elder's Fundraiser this Saturday March 5 starting at 5pm!

UFC will be ordered and concession available. Entry is by

donation at the door. Proceeds will go towards the Elder's

Program. Kids are welcome to come with you parents!

After all, it is a family affair!

That's it folks! Have a great weekend :)
