complex password. As an additional protection you should put apassword in the BIOS too.

• If your laptop has a second factor authentication (Biometrics, SmartCard), create your profile and secure access to the machine.

• MARK YOUR LAPTOP AND THE LAPTOP CASE with a tag or asticker or some sort of unique identifier. Put some identificationtag(s) / mark(s) on both – the laptop and the case. Considerputting your corporate logo on all laptops

• WORKING IN PUBLIC PLACES is one time when someone maybe watching you so make sure you are sitting in a reserved place,or use privacy filters to prevent people watching your screen. Alsomake sure no one is looking into your screen over your shoulder

Laptop Search!• Are you traveling to USA ?

Be informed that your laptop can be inspected by USCustoms ! Information can be copied by them from yourmachine and if the data on your hard disk is encrypted youwill have to provide them with the key.

Call it a Laptop Body and Soul Search but you have to livewith it.

Make sure you do not have any data which they cannotunderstand and clean out the temp files and browser cache.

Better to carry a clean machine than to spend time waitingfor them to complete their investigation, or fieldingquestions about your history, and you can store anddownload your work-in-hand data from an FTP site after youenter the US.
