What it’s about In 2012 we founded our Mami’s Munich Hockey Team. Women from different Munich field hockey clubs got together as one Mom’s team to play with and against teams of other countries. This tournament is an event from Moms for Moms. No kids, no partners - it’s just about ‚us‘, friendships and having lots of fun whilst playing hockey! We participated in tournaments in Spain and in Belgium. With so many Moms wanting to come to the Munich area we decided to start our own tournament history as well. So here it goes…

Who is the tournament for?Moms over 35. Moms who haven’t played for ages and started playing again. Moms who started playing hockey as a beginner. Moms who enjoy the company of other Moms and a weekend where everything is just about us! Moms who like to play hockey and are competitive in a fun way but not ‚over ambitious'.

You are looking to laugh, party, play hockey, communicate with hockey-playing Moms from around the world, enjoy the Bavarian culture, relax and simply have fun!

Please bring your team flags / country flags. We will parade in an opening ceremony to convey the spirit of the festival.

Munich Bavaria, our village & Leonhardi

It is a tradition in our little village of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn to bless the horses once a year. In a very beautiful parade on Sunday morning with the country’s traditional clothing and Bavarian festivities you can experience a true Bavarian event, the Leonhardi Fest, if you’d like. On top, Munich is just a 25 min train ride away, inviting you with alls its sight-seeing opportunities. Given the opportunity of the Leonhardi fest, we’ve chosen this weekend to let you experience a bit of the Bavarian culture.

Rules

• 8 vs. 8, min. 8 players per team

• 20 minutes per game

• We will follow the FIH indoor rules as closely as we can

• Pitch size: ½ of a reg. sized pitch

Fees/Costs

Team Fees: 380 € per 10 players, every further player in a team 35 € (pitch, organization, goody-bag, program,…). Not included: Your trip, your hotel, your transfer, extra drinks.

Additionally, each player costs 50€; this includes dinner & lunch + one drink each on Saturday.

We plan to accept one team from one country each in order to make it as international as possible.

What to expect Friday, 08 July 2016 - experience the Bavarian festival

We will meet in Hoehenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn at 18:00 at a beer festival in a real Bavarian tent. You will experience a true Bavarian evening with music, Bavarian food, traditional Bavarian happenings & lots of laughter and fun. It’s not exactly the Oktoberfest - but to be honest - it’s a lot more traditional and more like the ‚real’ Oktoberfest originally was.

Saturday, 09 July 2016 - hockey day & Show Night

Our hockey tournament begins at 8:00 AM. Between games there are special Bavarian “happenings“ organized especially for you. The points you can get here will be included in your total team results.

In the evening we will meet in a Bavarian restaurant/pub. A traditional buffet will be ready for you. As usual we request that every team prepares a little show. This year’s theme will be open. Our stage is small, however, so please bear this in mind.

Sunday, 10 July 2016 - Bavarian tradition- horse parade

For the ones amongst you who would like to experience Bavaria at full length, come and watch the Bavarian horse blessing parade Sunday morning. Horses, participants and lots of the audience are dressed & decorated beautifully. As they parade around the village church the priest blesses the horses.
