Phonemic Blending:o Write a word. Say each sound as you spell the word using magnetic

letters. Read the word aloud and have the student repeat the word. Move the letters in a random order. As the student to say each sound as he/she rearranges the letters to form the word.

Retelling Stories/Events:o Create picture cards that will tell a story. Line the cards up on the

table, and tell the story to the child using the cards as a reference. After the teacher finishes, mix up the picture cards and have the student reorder them according to the events. As the student is reordering the cards have the student retell the story orally.
