Art. 1GRANT5 OPPORTUN!TIES

1.1 Maste/s Degree flaurea Magistrale 2. clclofGrants for Master's Degree courses are awarded for a period of study of 6 {six} or g lnine}months.Admission to the first year of a Mastefs Degree course in ltaly requires the completion of aBschelo/s degree in the applicants' country of origin; admission to the second year is granted toapplicants upon evidence to be on track with their first year studies.

1.2 Courses of Hlgher Education In Arts, Muslc, and Dance {AFAM}Grants for Courses of Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAMI are awarded for a perlodof study of 6 (sixl or 9 {nlne} months.

1,4 Research under academic supervision (Progetti in co-tutela!Grants for a research under academic supervision are awarded for a period of study of 5 {sixl or 9{nlnel months.This type of grants can be awarded to research projects carried out at rhe ltalian ResearchInstitutions (i.e ltalian Research Council - CNR, ltalian National lnstitute of Health - lSS, ltafianNational Institute for Nuctear Physics - INFN, ltalian National Institute for Astrophysics - INAF, TheItalian Institute for Environrnental Protection and Research - ISPRA) under the academicsupervision of public Universities or Museums and Archives.

Applicants must submit a research proiect and the letter of admission on behatt of the hostUnlversity/lnstitute; they are also required to provide the name and contacts (e-mail address) ofthelr supervisors.

Admlsslon to some Master's Degree courses or AFAM Institutes requires an admission test.Please refer to the relevant University/AFAM Instltute to check whether an admlsrlon test isrequlred.

Grants for ltalian language and culture courses are awarded exclusively to students attending anItalian course at a University for a period of 3 (three| months.

Applicants for Master's Degree/Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM) Programmes/

Italian Language and Culture Courses should not be over 28 vears old by the deadline of this call,

with the sole exception of renewals.

Applicants for PhD Programmes should not be over 30 years old by the deadline of this call, with

the sole exception of renewals.

Applicants for Research Pr{ects under academic superulslon should not be over 40 years old by

the deadllne of thls call.

3.l Applicants who have received a MAECI grant in the Academic Year 2017-2018 may apply tocontinue or complete a multi-year degree course. Renewals are granted only to applicants whoprove satisfacto ry academic progress.

3.2 Only applicants who have received a MAECI grant for Academic Year 2017-2018 are eligible to

attend a Single Cycle Degree Prograrn (Corso di Lourea q Ciclo Unicol for the academic year

2018-2019. Renewals are granted only to applicants who prove satisfactory academic

progress.

Art .4FUNDING PERIOD

Grants are awarded for a period of study from October 1tt, 2018 to September 30th, 2019.

Italian Publlc Admlnistration employees and their first-degree descendants can not apply forgrants.

Grants cannot be awarded to attend Bachelor's Degree courses (first cyclel or Single Cycle DegreePrograms with the sole exception of renewals (cf. Art. 3,2|. Besides, they cannot be awarded toattend courses in foreign Institutions based in ltaly or abroad, nor in private Institutes, ResearchCentres or [abs not recognised by the ltalian Ministry of Fducation, University, and Research(MIUR). https:/lstudvinitalg.es3ed,it/en/feseef,q,h

Art. 7SETECTION AND AWARDING OF GRANTS

?.l Selection

Applications will be evaluated by a Cornrnittee set up by the ltalian Diplomatic Mission accreditedin the applicant's country of origin.

Syrian applicants will be selected by a Cornmittee established by the ltalian Ministry of ForeignAffairs and fnternationalCooperation {DGSP - Office V[).

7.3..Balking

The relevant Diplomatic Mission will publish the list of grantees as well as a llst of the bestexcluded, if any.

Ar t .8TUITION FEES

Grantees may be exempted from the payrnent of enrollrnefit and tuition fees depending on thepoliry of each Unlversity.

Exemption is not granted for courses in ltallan language and culture, for which enrollment fees aredue.

Art. IHEAITH AND MEDICAL INSURANCE

Grantees wlll be covered by a health and medicallaccident insurance contracted by MAEA for theentire duration of the grant.Insurance coverage will not apply to events derived from pre-existing physical and pathologicalcondltlons.

Art. l0TERMS OF 6RANT

Grantees wlll receive a 9ff1 Euros monthly allowance on a quarterly basis, which will be paid ontheir ltalian bank account.

The first installment of the grant can be received only after the conrpletion of Universityenrollment and the submission oJ all the documents requested according to the necessaryadministrative procedu res.

The last installment of the grant will be paid only upon veriflcatlon of satisfactory academicprogress.

The grant will cover courses attended in ltaly only.

An. 11INCOMPATIBILITY

The grant is incompatible with any other grant offered by the ltalian Government or any otherItalian public institution.
