SUPERMICRA E ed SEFUNCTIONING AND FAULTS FINDING TEST
The following test must be executed with the help of the boiler’s Instructions Manual
REMARK: The lasting check must be executed with a tester on the flow of the , after disconnecting the boiler and afterdisconnecting the connector relevant to the component or circuit to be tested.
For the tests on the electrical components check the connections and the contacts of the connections even if not indicated
NO Check the 230 v net, thecable and theconnections
Move the selector on“O”
Does the green ledflash?
NO
Are there 230vbetween the clampL and N of theclamp board M 5of the main PCB? YES Replace the main PCB
YES
If flashing - Replace the NTC sensorIs the red led off? NO
If constantly on - Fill the circuit or replace the loss of water pressure switchYES
Move the selector on“SUMMER”Is the green ledconstantly on?
NO Replace the main PCB
YES
NO Check thewater network
Move the DHWselector at maximumand open an hot watertap at maximum. Is there production ofhot water?
NO Is the regulator behindthe water valveclosed?
YES Open theregulator
YES NO Replace the DHW micro switch
NO The membraneof the watervalve is dirty ordamaged
YES Clean or replace the membraneDoes the boiler switchon?
NO
Is the contact of theDHW micro-switchclosed?(electricalcontinuing between 16and 20 on the mainPCB) YES Replace the
main PCBYES
NO Replace the main PCBDoes the pump work?NO
Are there 230 vbetween the clamps ofthe pump? YES Replace the pump
YESNO Replace the pressare switch
NO With the boileroff are thecontact C andNC of the fluepressure switchclosed?
YES
Does the fan work?
( SE models only)
NO Are there 230 vbetween the clamps ofthe fan?
YES Replace the fan
Replace the main PCB if thereare not 230v between 8 and 9 ofM2, with the boiler on, if offreplace the IONO board
YES NO Replace the IONO
boardNO
Is there the spark onthe burner?
Are the ignitionelectrode and its cabledirty or damaged?
YES Clean or replaceelectrode and cable
For the SE models check thatthe contact between C and NO ofthe pressare switch is closed, thatthe pipes are connected and thepressure switch is efficient
YES
Replace the damaged oneNO NO REMARK: for the flue
thermostat check the draughtNO
Have the 100°Csafety thermostatand the fluethermostat (mod E)the contact closed? YES Replace the Iono board
Does the burner ignite?
During the ignitionprocess are there230 v on the of thegas valve?( reset if the boilergoes in block )
YES Replace the valve if there is no gas in the network (check ofthe pressure on the “IN” plug of the gas valve)
YES
NO Check the regulation of the power of slow ignition and of theminimum power of the gas valve (see the Manual)
Replace the main PCB
Does the flame stay inslow ignition for 8seconds?
NO
Has the power ofslow ignition beenregulated in thecorrect way? (seethe InstructionManual )
YES Is the modulatorinterrupted or inshort circuit?
NO
YES Replace the modulator
YES
NO Does the flame stayat minimum or atlow power?
SI Regulate the max power onthe gas valve, as indicated onthe manual
NE Replace the Iono board
After 8 seconds doesthe flame move to anhigher power?
NO Does the boiler goin block conditionafter 10 seconds?
YES
Is the ignitionelectrode dirty, badly regulated ordamaged? YES
Clean, regulate or replace theIONO electrode
YES
NO Does the water flowremain low? YES
Make the cleaning of theDHW exchanger withspecific products
Does the water at thetap get warm? NO
Is the water flowsuperior to thatallowed by thetype of boiler?
YES Reduce the water flow at the tap or at the regulatorYES
Reduce the water flowat the tap at about5l/min.After some secondsdoes the flamemodulate?
NO Check the NTC sensorresistance
And if necessary replace it
Value of the sensor0°C = 33 k20°C = 12,5 k60°C = 2,5 k80°C = 1,3 k
YES
END OF THE D.H.W. TEST
CHECK OF THE HEATING
NO Regulate the room thermostat
NO
Move the selector in“WINTER” with theregulation at maxim.Does the boiler startworking?
Does theroomthermostat ask forheat?
YES Make a bridge on the clamps 39 and 40 of M10 of the board: If theboiler works replace the room thermostat. If not replace the main PCB
YESNO Replace the main PCBDoes the pump start
working? NO Are the switches 5and 6 of the boardon the pump OFF? YES Regulate the switches
YES
Do the radiators getwarm?
NO Check that the eventual taps or thermostatic valvesin the system are open
YES
END OF THE TEST
1) Put the manometer in the outlet test point of the gas valve
2) Take the instruction manual for consultation
3) Open a DHW tap, and after 10”set the maximum pressure ( with tool number 10 )
4) To set the minimum
pressure (with screw driver ) after disconnecting one cable of the modulator
5) Regulate the slow ignition. ( left minus - right plus )
You can have 30 seconds available, if you turn the heating trimmer leftwards, till the end of the turn.
( start again the 30” with a power reset )
6) Regulate the Heating power.
At the maximun power on the rigth or at the desired power.
In order to know the values , see the instruction manual
Warnings for servicing
At the end of each heating period, it is necessary to check the boiler
Normally,it will be necessary to execute the following operations:
—Remove any possible oxidation from burners and electrodes—Clean the burner air passages and the exchanger—Check water and gas connections tightness—Check gas consumption at the minimum and maximum output—Verify that safety devices are correctly working—Verify periodically the good working and efficiency of the outlet duts for the combustion products —In any case of parts replacement, it is mandatory to use HERMANN original spare parts.
