Periods go across tableAll elements in same period, have same

number of outer shells

Groups go down the tableAll elements in same group, have same number

of electrons in outer shell, which equals the group number

Fill in the BINGO table with symbols from the list of Elements

Cross each one off as the clue is called out

Call out BINGO when a line is complete

Group 1-> The Alkali

Have 1 electron in outer shell.

Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, Rubidium, Caesium, Francium.

Group 2-> The Alkaline Earth Metals

Have 2 electrons in outer shell.

Beryllium, Magnesium, Calcium, Strontium, Barium, Radium.

Transition Metals

Have an incomplete penultimate and outside shell of electrons. Have 1 or 2

electrons in outer shell.

Titanium, Chromium, Manganese, Iron, Cobalt, Nickel, Copper, Zinc, Silver,

Cadmium, Tungsten, Platinum, Gold, Mercury, Uranium.

Group 3

Have 3 electrons in outer shell.

Boron, Aluminium, Gallium, Indium, Thallium.

Group 4

Have 4 electrons in outer shell.

Carbon, Silicon, Germanium, Tin, Lead.

Group 5

Have 5 electrons in outer shell.

Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Arsenic, Antimony, Bismuth.

Group 6

Have 6 electrons in outer shell.

Oxygen, Sulphur, Selenium, Tellurium, Polonium.

Group 7-> The Halogens

Have 7 electrons in outer shell.

Fluorine, Chlorine, Bromine, Iodine, Astatine.

Group 8-> The Noble Gases

Have full number (He=2, rest=8) of electrons in outer shell.

Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, Radon.
