PDF files are created through MicroStation’s print facility
1. Select File>Print to open the Print dialog box.
2. In the Print dialog box, change the printer driver to pdf.pltcfg.
3. Select Print and choose a name and location for the PDF file.
How is a PDF created in MicroStation ?

Markup_pdf.pltcfg is a customized version of the delivered PDF printer driver
configuration file.
It’s used by the Markups dialog when creating PDF files.
Resolution, Raster Quality, and other settings are optimized for the Markup workflow.
Should not be renamed or removed from the workspace.

• DGN must have valid Geographic Coordinate System defined.
• User-defined GCS’s may not be recognized. Reproject to a delivered GCS if needed.
• Enable Georeferencing must be enabled in the pltcfg.

• Retains the model units for both the Master as well as Reference files
• Enable measuring in in thePDF pltcfg.
• Requires Enable Commenting and Analysis in Adobe Reader to be enabled via Acrobat Pro
• Only then can PDFs be measured in Adobe Reader.

• Turn on Print to 3D in the Print dialog.
• Alternate: Export to U3D and import resulting file into an existing PDF.

• Print to 3D option will not be displayed
• Be sure to turn off the Rasterized option is off.
