Why IIFM?
Knowledge Capital
IIFM is one of the few B-Schools which depends more on permanent faculty than visiting guest faculty. The permanent faculty-student ratio is an impressive 1:5.4 (24 permanent faculty catering to 9 faculty areas). The excellent mix of highly qualifi ed faculty and up-to-date course content ensures that IIFM graduates are well prepared to face any challenge posed by today’s business scenario.
Selection Process
A batch of 58 students is selected through an extremely stringent selection process, consisting of several fi lters to get the best minds in the country. The present batch (2008-10) has been selected from a pool of top scorers in CAT who appeared for group discussions and personal interviews. The ratio of fi nal selection from the total number of IIFM applicants are an impressive 1:63.
Placement Records
Average number of job offers per student last year was more than 2. More than simply quantity, the quality of jobs on offer refl ects the faith reposed by recruiters.
Practical Exposure
IIFM believes in the importance of giving its students extensive practical exposure alongside invaluable academic inputs to ensure their holistic development.
This ensures a perfect mix of business acumen and academic intellect. Such exposure is provided by means of Summer Internship, Field Visits, Industry Visits, Guest Lectures, and Live Projects. A ten week compulsory Summer Internship provides an opportunity for students to apply academic knowledge to real time managerial problems. 15-day-long fi eld trips are conducted twice during the programme to provide on-fi eld knowledge gaining. Guest lectures provide students a chance to interact with representatives of the corporate world and learn about latest management practices.
It’s easier to walk on a plane. At IIFM, scholars are taught to get a strong foothold even in severe conditions by striking the right balance.
right balance
Imagine 58 dynamic individuals, who have cracked CAT with enviable scores, each with a UNIQUE skill-set, all raring to make a difference. When this group packs into the classroom to deliberate and brainstorm with India’s PREMIER management faculty for over 1200 classroom hours, and fi nds solutions to some of the toughest business problems over some 400 odd case studies, the outcome can be quite INVIGORATING.
The Indian Institute of Forest Management proudly presents to you the PGDFM Batch of 2010; a talented group of future managers, with the ability to TRANSFORM Indian business in challenging and dynamic business environments. For the past two decades IIFM, India’s premier management school, has produced exceptionally bright and effi cient management graduates, who have gone to LEAD business in Core Corporate, Development, Environment and Conservation and Livelihood sectors. The current batch promises to set new records and break new FRONTIERS.
IIFM has been Ranked 2nd in the Sectoral B-School ranking by Outlook–MDRA Survey conducted in September, 2009. The Institute won the prestigious Dewang Mehta Business School Award for ‘Best Government B–School’ for the year 2009.
