Use of Photoshop:

Poster

We began by opening a new Photoshop document and inserting the same image as we used for the front cover of our digipack. We used the Rectangular Marquee Tool to select the area of the image we wanted to use.

We decided to make the colours of the picture brighter than we had on the digipack in order to make it more eye catching if it was used in a magazine or as a poster. We did this by making the red in the picture more vibrant, and the blue more subtle.

To make the kite stand out more, we used the Brightness/Contrast Tool to make the background darker, whilst still keeping the reddish colours from before.

We then added the band name and album name using the Horizontal Type Tool.

Again using the Horizontal Type Tool we added more text about the album. We arranged the text in the same shape as the kite in order to create the best use of the rule of thirds.

We inserted logos of the record label and distributor, and an iTunes logo because we felt that this was appropriate for the age range we were attempting to aim our music video at.

Finally, we added some reviews from a popular indie/rock magazine and a national newspaper as we felt this would appeal to a wide range of teenagers who may have different interests and read different publications.
