A Message from Mrs. Price
Students and families,
I would like to thank all of you for your support during the past few
weeks. While it has been a di cult time, I hope that the faculty and sta
at CHIS have met your needs to support your ongoing education. We
are unsure of what our school year or procedures will look like in the fall.
However, one thing has de nitely changed and will need to continue to
improve... Students must understand and value the opportunity to get a
good education. It saddens me to say that while we have been out, only
26% of our students have regularly completed online assignments. ( is
does not include students who have been given packets to do at home.)
With online learning, teachers will o er many wonderful and unique op-
portunities for students to learn, but their motivation and commitment to
do so must come from home. It is more important than ever for all of us
to work together to ensure our students continue to build foundations to
allow them to nd jobs, build careers, and become contributing citizens in
our communities. Our children are our future.
To keep your student learning at home this summer, I encourage you to
read daily. It doesn’t matter if it is the newspaper, magazines, or novels,
the more you read the more you will build vocabulary, uency, and overall
understanding of the world. I also encourage all students to keep math
skills going by practicing multiplication and division regularly. Don’t for-
get what you’ve worked so hard to learn!
Congratulations to our outgoing 6th graders. I will miss you more than
you will know. I hope to come visit you next year at CHMS. And to our
upcoming 6th graders... We can’t wait to see you in the fall!!!
Love to all,Mrs. Price
