Wallace Community College ·The Smart Start The Dual Enrollment Program allows eligible high school students to enroll in college courses concurrently with high school classes, either at one of the college campuses or at the student’s high school, earning college and high school credit simultaneously. ACADEMIC COURSES AVAILABLE INCLUDE: Biology, Anatomy, Chemistry, English Composition, U.S. History, Western Civilization, Precalculus, Calculus, Physics, American Government, and Psychology. TECHNICAL PROGRAMS INCLUDE: Air Conditioning/Refrigeration, Automotive Mechanics, Child Development, Computer Science, Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Emergency Medical Services, Industrial Electronics, Medical Office Administration, and Welding. Cost Savings: Tuition and fees at LBWCC are significantly less than those at four-year colleges. Simultaneous Credit: Earn academic credit for both high school graduation and a college degree. Students must meet the following criteria: Be a high school sophomore, junior or senior. Have a 2.5 average in completed high school courses. (A 2.0 GPA may be accepted for some technical programs.) To Register: 1. Complete an applicat i on packet for dual enrollment admission with appropriate signatures. 2. Submit appropriate ACT scores or take the ACCUPLACER Placement Assessment. 3. Complete the registration form for dual enrollment class. 4. Pay the tuition. (Students taking career-technical courses may be eligible for scholarships.)
