International Symposium on Advanced Materials (ISAM)

Materials Science & Engineering Department, Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan

Materials' characterization is a fundamental process in the field of Materials Science, withoutwhich no scientific understanding of engineering materials could be ascertained. It refers to abroad and general process by which a material’s structure and properties are probed andmeasured. Many characterization techniques have been in practice for centuries, however, newtechniques and technologies are constantly emerging, leading to a huge increase in the level ofunderstanding as well as advent of advanced materials.

December 03 – 05 , 2018

Researchers, scientists and engineers dealingwith material development and characterizationwould be the major beneficiaries.

The workshop would enable the beginners toestablish a solid foundation in the field ofcharacterization through oral sessions, exercisesand hands-on practical sessions. The focuswould be on Optical Microscopy, Scanning &Transmission Electron Microscopy, X-RayDiffraction, Atomic Force Microscopy as well asThermal Characterization of Materials.

Participants: Rs. 20,000/- Students: Rs. 5,000/-

The deadline for registration is October 31,2018. Registration fee may be sent either bybank draft or cross-cheque in the favor of“International Symposium on AdvancedMaterials”. In case of cancellation, beforedeadline, the registration fee would be fullyrefunded. However, 25% fee would be deductedon cancellations after deadline.
