It refers to a broad and general process by which a material’s structure and properties are probed and measured . Many characterization techniques have been in practice for centuries, however, new techniques and technologies are constantly emerging, leading to a huge increase in the level of understanding as well as advent of advanced materials . December 03 – 05, 2018 Researchers, scientists and engineers dealing with material development and characterization would be the major beneficiaries . The workshop would enable the beginners to establish a solid foundation in the field of characterization through oral sessions, exercises and hands - on practical sessions . The focus would be on Optical Microscopy, Scanning & Transmission Electron Microscopy, X - Ray Diffraction, Atomic Force Microscopy as well as Thermal Characterization of Materials . Participants : Rs . 20 , 000 / - Students : Rs . 5 , 000 / - The deadline for registration is October 31 , 2018 . Registration fee may be sent either by bank draft or cross - cheque in the favor of “International Symposium on Advanced Materials” . In case of cancellation, before deadline, the registration fee would be fully refunded . However, 25 % fee would be deducted on cancellations after deadline .
