Middlesbrough Borough Council is proud to be part of Tees Valley Unlimited –the Local Enterprise Partnership for Tees Valley.Tees Valley Unlimited is a public and private sector partnership.

Our role is to help Tees Valley grow.

We will do this by attracting new investment to the area, building better transport links, trainingour workforce and creating more jobs.

Since April 2011 Tees Valley Unlimited has:-

Attracted almost £500m ofprivate sector investmentto Tees ValleyAV Dawson is expanding itscontainer business on thebanks of the River Tees. Themulti- million pound investmentincludes piling works to increasethe depth of the quay and anew rail freight terminal whichwill be able to carry up to 80containers at any one time.

Secured almost £25m toimprove local railwayfacilities and help reduceroad congestionWork has now started on a newrailway station at James CookUniversity Hospital. This willmake access easier for staff,patients and visitors.

Work on the A19/A174 ParkwayInterchange will start later thisyear reducing road congestion.

Created and protectedover 3,000 Tees Valley jobs Global Marine Energy is thelargest independent providerof power cables for the OffshoreWind industry. An increaseddemand from customers sawthe company move to newoffices at Middlehaven creating50 new jobs.

Welcomed 8 companiesonto the Tees ValleyEnterprise ZoneOver £4million has been securedto help build Boho 5 at St Hilda’s.The Government and Europeanfunding will extend DigitalCity andprovide office space for the fastgrowing digital sector. Additionalfunding for the Teesside AdvancedManufacturing Park will helpcreate a centre for internationallyknown businesses working inrenewable energy.

Met and worked with over1,200 Tees Valley companiesThe first Tees Valley BusinessSummit took place on TeesdaleBusiness Park; it was followedby the first Tees Valley SkillsEvent. David Smith, EconomicEditor at the Sunday Timestook part in Tees Valley BudgetLive! and commenting on localbusinesses wrote “Otherregions need to follow.”
