Our role is to help Tees Valley grow. We will do this by attracting new investment to the area, building better transport links, training our workforce and creating more jobs. The multi- million pound investment includes piling works to increase the depth of the quay and a new rail freight terminal which will be able to carry up to 80 containers at any one time. Secured almost £25m to improve local railway facilities and help reduce road congestion Work has now started on a new railway station at James Cook University Hospital. This will make access easier for staff, patients and visitors. Work on the A19/A174 Parkway Interchange will start later this year reducing road congestion. Created and protected over 3,000 Tees Valley jobs Global Marine Energy is the largest independent provider of power cables for the Offshore Wind industry. An increased demand from customers saw the company move to new offices at Middlehaven creating 50 new jobs. Welcomed 8 companies onto the Tees Valley Enterprise Zone Over £4million has been secured to help build Boho 5 at St Hilda’s. The Government and European funding will extend DigitalCity and provide office space for the fast growing digital sector. Additional funding for the Teesside Advanced Manufacturing Park will help create a centre for internationally known businesses working in renewable energy. Met and worked with over 1,200 Tees Valley companies The first Tees Valley Business Summit took place on Teesdale Business Park; it was followed by the first Tees Valley Skills Event.
