From the Pastor:
My dear friends in Christ,
In our Second Reading today from the Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians, we learn how many parts make up one body. This is certainly applied to our Church as many components make up The Body of Christ. You can easily enough see how this kind of thing works by looking no further than your own body. Your body has many parts—limbs, organs, cells—but no matter how many parts you can name, you’re still one body. It’s exactly the same with The Church. The Church has many parts. There are so many different ministries, each unique and functioning differently, but all yet part of one body, The Church. Last weekend we held a Ministry Fair in the hallway in hopes of adding more parts to the body. We were successful in adding parts (people who signed up) to some ministries, but not so successful in others. We can always use help with the cleaning of the Church on Wednesday mornings (vacuuming, dusting, decorating when necessary). We can use help with cleaning of the Altar linens (purificators, finger towels, corporals) which is a take home ministry. If you are interested and can help, please see Father John or Deacon Mike after any Mass. This ministry can be done in your own home while you watch television! All that’s required is a washing machine. We will have another Ministry Fair in the spring. Special thanks to all who helped set up the fair and especially to those of you who signed up for a ministry.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Bishop John M. Smith who returned home to The Lord last Tuesday.
May God bless you all!
Father John
YOU ... are CHRIST’S body!
