Giventhat1in5dentalpatientsareclassifiedasmedicallycomplex,thereisahighneedfordentalhealthprofessionalstobecomfortableandcompetenttotreatmedicalemergenciesthatoccurinthedentalofficeeffectivelyandefficiently.ThroughthesupportofagrantfundedbytheDentalTradeAllianceFoundation,youareinvitedtobepartofaninnovativeresearchprojectthatinvolveslearninghowtomanagemedicalemergenciesthatoccurinthedentalofficethroughtheuseofhigh-fidelitymannequinsATNOCHARGE!Thesemannequinsbreathe,blink,talk,sweatandsimulatemanyreal-lifeemergencieslikecardiacissuesandseizures.Weneedyourhelp!There’snochargetoparticipate&youwillreceiveDentalCEUcredit!CourseObjectives:•  Discussthevalueofpatientinterviewingtopreventmedicalemergencies•  Identifystrategiestomanagecommonmedicalemergenciesinthedentaloffice•  Teachthesestrategiestotheircolleaguesattheirclinic/office

completeda1-yearresidencyprograminAdvancedEducationinGeneralDentistry(AEGD)atNYULutheranMedicalCenter.Sheistrainedtotreatindividualswithspecialneedsorcomplexmedicalconditionsaswellasdelivercareundersedationdentistry.SherecentlycompletedherMastersinDentalEducation(MAEd)fromtheUniversityofthePacific.SheisaFellowoftheAcademyofGeneralDentistry(FAGD)andoftheSpecialCareDentistryAssociation(FSCDA).SheisalsoanactiveleaderintheAmericanDentalAssociationandtheAcademyofGeneralDentistry.
