weekend. (13th June—week 7). Next Governing Council meeting will be 21st June 2017.
Please note the changes to the direct Smoky Bay bus run for weeks 5 and 6. These are
listed in the diary dates section.
Students completed NAPLAN testing last week
and showed great persistence in working
through the tests. Results will not be received
until term 3 and will be sent home once they
are available.
The school will be holding an auction day in
term 3 (Friday week 2). We will send out more
details closer to the time.
Next week looks like an exciting week for
Dream Big. Hopefully everyone is busily prac-
ticing their talent for the show!! Any talented
community members that want a shot at the
limelight on the Miltaburra Stage, please con-
tact the senior class and put your name on
the list of outstanding talent. Also remember
that Wednesday is dress up day.

Teaching and Learning
One of the key indicators of literacy success for
children is oral language development in the
early years. One of the primary roles of an early
years educator is to support the oral language
development of children and young people.
Oral Language Is one of the priority areas for
the Far West Education Partnership and for Milt-
aburra, Natasha Gill will be attending a partner-
ship wide oral language professional develop-
ment session this Thursday to ensure we are
continuing to provide MAS preschool children
with the best opportunities to develop their liter-
acy skills. Calise Holmes will replace Tash in the
preschool on Thursday.

Wonder of the day
I wonder…….
Where can you find a cloud forest?
What is a cloud forest?
What are the trees in a cloud forest like?
Can you think of an answer?
Quote of the day:
“success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving.
They make mistakes but they don’t quit”
