MESP through Junk KoutureExpressive Arts

You will work in small teams to create striking couture designs and impressive works ofwearable art from everyday junk. You will work with students from Forth Valley College onexperimental hair and theatrical makeup. You will submit your designs to the junk KoutureCompetition and have the opportunity to compete against a large number of schools acrossScotland.

Learning Intentions Success CriteriaI will:

● work in small teams and experiment with awide variety of recycled materials lookingspecifically at fabric manipulation, constructionand durability.

● make mock up design ideas and present to mypeers.

● design and create a fashion garment usingrecycled materials including head and footwear.

● choreograph moves to a selected soundtrack touse in the grand final.

● work with FVC to develop skills in Hair andTheatrical make-up.

I can:

● discuss my ideas, choice of materials andtechniques and develop presentation skills byworking with peers to create a visualpresentation.

● manipulate and construct a wide variety ofmaterials in order to create wearable garments.

● select a soundtrack which fits the theme of mygarment and choreograph moves in time withthe music.

● apply theatrical makeup and experiment withhair styles in keeping with my chosen theme.

Recognition of AchievementSuccessful designs will make it through to the grand final Junk Kouture fashion show at Glasgow ConcertHall and will be showcased in front of a large audience and panel of judges.
