17th GGP Council meeting - online
The Council meeting took place on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Due to thecontingency measures to contain COVID-19, the meeting was held online. Itwas a fruitful meeting in which representatives of 29 countries joined themeeting to provide an update about the progress in their county. Another 25people followed the livestream via YouTube. The documentation of the meetingwill soon be added on the UNECE website and the meeting can be viewed onYouTube.

NEW - Handbook on Demographic Change an theLifecourse
We would like to draw your attention to the "Handbook on Demographic Change and the Life Course" which includes a chapter on the GGP entitled "Current and future contributions of the Generations and Gender Programme to life course research". The chapter is written by Luisa Fadel, Tom Emery and AnneH. Gauthier. The pre-print version of this chapter willsoon be added on the GGP website for open access.
GGP Founders
In the last months we have highlighted the role ofthe founding members of the GGP who werepresent at the first Consortium Meeting in Paris in2000. This month we highlight the contribution ofProf. Lars Østby to the GGP. Lars has beenworking as a demographer at Statistics Norway.Please find his contribution to the GGP onour homepage.
