"I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers" Ephesians 1:16. Just as this verse says, we are so very grateful for our church family. During the last difficult days that we had my Daddy and his passing, my family and I have seen God in your faces, heard him in your voices, and felt him in your sustaining prayers, beautiful cards, and hugs. For all of these we thank you so very much. Arnie and Nancy Harpe and family We would like to thank the congregation for your support and generous contributions that were made on Karen’s behalf at the Wednesday Fellowship meal on March 26. Without your help we would never have been able to attain the funding goal that Duke Medical Center had set for us to reach. We would also like to give a special thanks to all of those who donated their time and talents to organize the preparation of the fantastic meal, provide desserts, and assisted with setting up and cleaning afterward. The Methodist Men, Missions Committee, and our Faithfull Workers Sunday School class did an incredible job, and we will forever be in their debt for all that they do for our church. The name of the new community garden is “Deep Roots of Mocksville Community Gardens”, and the Storehouse For Jesus site will also have In Memory of Lonnie Howell written on it. We are looking for a small spreader that would help us broadcast our lime at the site. We are also on the lookout for used garden tools that can be donated to our gardens. We need shovels, hoes, rakes, garden hoses, wheelbarrows and any hand tools that anyone would like to donate. Please contact Diane Salmon at 492-2360 or any other garden member and we will be glad to collect them.

The Joel Committee has been meeting for several weeks seeking God’s vision for the future of our church. The team is made up of Steve Laymon, Mike Harrison, Ame Little, Brad Chapman, Patsy Brewer, Don Bowles, Kevin Neal, Jayne Walker, Carl Lambert, Angie Jordan, Lillian Sharpe, John Honeycutt, Joeff Williams, Clyde Hendricks, Sidniee Suggs, Elizabeth Rosenbaum, Megan Markland, Tiffany Evans and myself. We have been shaping a mission statement, reviewing our average worship and Sunday school attendance in the past and our membership trends, studying demographic information, identifying needs in our church and community, evaluating our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks, taking inventory of the ministries we offer, setting priorities and considering the implications for staff and facilities. It has been a challenging undertaking and we covet your continued prayers as we endeavor to develop a clear plan for the future. We hope to make our report to the Administrative Board in May. Pastor Glenn

Honduras Medical Mission Team Report February 7-16, 2014
Our team consisted of 2 doctors, one P.A., 6 nursing staff and 2 dental hygienists and a Honduran dentist that we hired for the trip. The flights and travel were long but smooth. We spent the first night in La Ceiba. The second day we drove another 4 1/2 hours to the clinic in Limὀn, our home for the next 6 days. After attending services at the Catholic church in Limὀn on Sunday, we had an afternoon clinic. The next 3 days we did clinics in smaller towns around Limὀn (one in a school, one in a church and one in our outlying clinic). Thursday and Friday we had clinics in Limὀn. The medical portion of the team saw nearly 1000 patients during the course of the week. We distributed over 3500 prescriptions and did some minor surgical procedures. Ours was the first team back to Limὀn since October, so we were very busy. The dental portion of the team was very busy seeing around 75 patients for extractions, fillings and cleanings.
Also, Jean and Leah (our hygienists) visited the school in Plan de Flores and the elementary school in Limὀn and varnished over 450 kids’ teeth. What a blessing! Our teams, along with others from Carolina Honduras Health Foundation, continue to provide badly needed health care services to the poor in Honduras. We want to thank the church for the ongoing support of this mission. In particular, we want to thank the Missions Committee and the Methodist Men for their continuing financial support. Also, we want to thank Tim Trudgeon for meeting us at 2:30 in the morning to drive the church bus to the airport and Kevin Neal for picking us up. Joel Edwards, MD
