2011 - It’s time to ask…

“How can you and your company go beyond the hour?”

Page 11: Earth Hour Corp Presentation

ACTION It could be any action, big or small from a company reducing

it’s carbon footprint to a school installing solar panels on their roof, a

council building cycling paths, a Government pledging to protect a

rainforest, right down to a family switching to renewable energy or drive

the car one less day a week.

PEOPLE it could be people inviting more of their staff, colleagues,

clients, friends and family to join Earth Hour, or join Earth Hour social

networks

TIME it could be people committing more time to sustainable actions

every day. It could be an extra 5 minutes, it could be 3 hours, it could

be more.

Big or small, every action counts

How can business support

Earth Hour?Businesses can support Earth Hour 2011 by firstly switching out

the lights of premises and encouraging staff and customers to also

participate.

Businesses are in a great position to take action and encourage efforts that

go beyond the hour by implementing practices and services that enable

staff and customers to make ongoing changes to reduce their impact on

the planet.

Show current and future staff and customers you’re contributing to

global environmental change!

For more information we’ve created a great

‘How to Guide for Businesses’

Hotels and resorts across the Intercontinental Group are going beyond the hour to reduce energy usage and take part in ongoing actions. The Intercontinental in Sydney hosts Earth Hour every month.

CBRE is committing to switching off the lights in 300m sq foot of office space globally and strengthening their global sustainability practices with events throughout the year.

Through the character Pocoyo the Earth Hour message is reaching hundreds of thousands of pre-school aged children globally all learning about caring for the environment and helping the planet.
