Work History O February 2012-present Regulatory Compliance
Manager for Radiation Currently I am acting Team Leader and Manager
for the support of the radiation committees as it relates to
setting meeting dates, organizing meeting documents and monitoring
the radiation review process. I also manage radioactive drug use in
research as it relates to Federal Regulations. Responsible for
submitting annual and special summary reports to FDA and
responsible for all correspondence relating to RDRC. Responsible
for regulatory oversight of radionuclide producing labs as they
relate to Human Subjects Research. Performed pre-reviews on
research study submissions and monitored study activity for
compliance with federal guidelines. O Part-time work with
Lifeflight Event Medicine in March of 2010 for medical coverage at
contracted events, such as Nashville Predators Hockey, Bridgestone
Arena Concerts, Vanderbilt Athletic events, and select others.

Work History (contd) O June 2003-2009Protocol Analyst IV,
Vanderbilt Institutional Review Board. I started with VHRPP in June
of 2003 and was assigned to HS1 and worked alongside Dena Johnson.
Those were the days of paper files and long Thursdays. Wow, those
were the days! In 2005 I became the Team Leader for the HSRC/RDRC
Committees and soon after acquired both HS1 and the Radiation
Committees.

Work History (contd) O January 2002Research Coordinator, Dept.
of Emergency Medicine. Responsible for coordinating all aspects of
research studies in the Emergency Dept., including contracts, IRB
submissions, and clinical nursing/pt care. I had my own lab and
everything. This was my introduction to research at Vanderbilt; a
direction I never conceived I would venture. Emergency Dept

Work History (contd) O 1999 2002Registered Nurse, Vanderbilt
Emergency Dept. I worked as a staff nurse in the Emergency Dept. If
you want to see team worktheres your example. When things go bad, I
would trust any one of them with my life and that of my family. I
loved working the trauma bays. I felt at home in the ED and enjoyed
the interactions with patients and families. I also enjoyed working
as preceptor for newly hired staff, paramedics, and nursing
students.

Work History (contd) O 1996 1999Registered Nurse, Vanderbilt
University Medical Center Worked as staff nurse in neuro-surgical
ICU, performing such tasks as patient care with complex monitoring,
and also served as charge nurse. I was fresh out of nursing school,
so this was very intimidating at first. The sickest of the sick. It
was a very stressful place to work, but I will cherish the memories
and the experience. Oh the stories I have.

Work History (the beginning) O 1984
1990Aircrew/Avionics/Aviation Electrician, United States Coast
Guard After high school I went into the United States Coast Guard
with big plans.. The big plans didnt pan out like I expected, but
it was a good choice for me. I can say that this decision has
directed most of my professional life. In many respoects, it
defines me. In the Coast Guard I was certified aircrew for search
and rescue, and medevac. When not flying, I worked as an airframe
electrician. I also worked as a firefighter for airport
support.

Education O I attended Cumberland University in Lebanon,
Tennessee for my BSN. Going to school as an adult/parent is a
unique experience. I took the life lessons I learned thus far and
applied them to my academic effort.

Education O I attended Volunteer State in Gallatin, Tennessee
for my EMT certification and licensure..twice! Yep.

Education O I am currently attending Graduate School at
Vanderbilt School of Nursing for my Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Board Certification. I would not be able to do this if I did not
work for VHRPP Thank you for helping me explore and reach my
goals.

Family My Wife, Crystal was born in London, England at a US Air
Force base. We met in the 5 th grade and were great friends all
through Middle, Jr. and High school..

Family O The last 2 years of High school we started dating and
got engaged before I went to U.S. Coast Guard Boot Camp.

Family O We got married a year later at 19 years old.so young !
Three years later we had our first child, a boy. His name is
Michael Brandon. Michael is now 24 and lives in Kentucky. Three
years after Michael was born, we had our daughter Katherine Lindsay
(Katie). Katie is now 21 and attending UTC for pre-med. We enjoy
camping, skiing, fishing, diving, and anything outdoors
