Important Essay Contest Details AllapplicantsmustbeasummerinternatanyIRUAmembercompanyandcurrentlyenrolledatafull-timecollegeoruniversity.OnlyapplicantswithaU.S.SocialSecuritynumberareeligible.

• In2017IRUAawardedatotalof$17,000tothewinnersoftheessaycontest.

• In2018thetotalamountwillbedeterminedbytheBoardofDirectorsbasedupondonationsreceivedfrommembers.TheessaysarejudgedandamountsawardedbytheScholarsCommittee

• Inordertoqualify,essaysmustbea10-20page“whitepaper”onaspecificinsuranceorreinsurancetopicofyourchoiceandshouldprovideadetailedexplanationontherelevance,impactorpotentialimpacttothereinsuranceindustry.

• Internscanbeworkinginanydepartmentattheirhostcompany;however,thehostcompanymustbeanIRUAmember.
