March 4th, 2020Council Members Present: Mike Thyssen, Walter Strebe, Cindy Levezow, Matt Buchholz,

The meeting was called to order by Council President Mike Thyssen at 7:20 PMPastor Lees opened the meeting with a word of prayer.Approve AgendaA motion was made by Matt Buchholz to approve the agenda, seconded it by Jake Ferg. Motion carried.Secretary’s ReportA motion was made by Walter Strebe to approve the Secretary’s Report, seconded by Cindy Levezow. Motion carriedOpen ForumBrenda Thyssen spoke regarding the December meeting concerning fellowshipAlice Lees spoke showing support of Pastor TedPastor’s ReportPastor reported that confirmation class is going to be held April 26th.Informed council of his continuing education and approximately how long, and what courses he will betakingOld BusinessJesse asked regarding if anything was in the works for stickers for inside new hymnalsAny Other Old Business – NoneNew BusinessMother’s Day Event will be held May 9th. Food will be catered in, and men will serveElder- discussion as to whether Elders should be on councilRelease Form – discussion on whether to have members file a release form when leaving churchCommittee ReportsScrip – Building & Grounds – Bill Piotter and Jeff Jolitz spoke to the council regarding the furnace, ductwork, condensation, and the back north west door. Bids will be sought for storm windows, and prices for newdoors in back Northwest cornerWorship – April 29th Next Meeting

A motion was made by Walter Strebe to adjourn the open meeting, with Norris Brown seconded it.Motion carried

The open meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.

ZWIC MEETINGMarch 15, 2020

Meeting was called to order by President Betty Piotter.Secretary’s Report by BrendaTreasure’s Report. Elizabeth gave the treasurers reportOld Business: No one will be attending the Women of the Word Convention this year. Rummage Sale will be June 6, 2020Mother’s Day Banquet is May 9, 2020. The men will take care of the rest. April birthday/anniversary fellowship is April 5. Faye, Betty and Brenda will bring snacks.New Business:We will be serving breakfast between Sunrise service and regular service on Easter Sunday. Sign up sheet will be sent around during church.Handbags for Hope collects handbags for the homeless/needy. They put personal items in them and give away. We will collect and make bags. Start on Monday March 16 at 9a.m.Pampered Chef items for ZWIC are here. We earned $110 free items. We also received half price items. One of the items was the pretzel kit. We decided on a Pretzel & Prayer Party. Saturday April 25,2020 at 9a.m. We will also make ice cream sandwiches for rummage sale. Motion made by Faye and seconded by Elizabeth/Allyce to adjourn with The Lord’s Prayer.Next meeting is April 15, 2020.

Sunday School NewsHello Everyone!Hope this report finds everyone well! Everything is uncertain at this time but we are all in good hands with God!I had to make a difficult decision of suspending Sunday School classes last week. The health of the students is my #1 priority at this time. Thanks to everyone for your understanding and patience. I do not know if we will be holding any more classes for this school year. Church & Area Happenings

READERS, GREETERS, USHERSA sign-up sheet will be passed around during worship services to sign up for these volunteer opportunities, or sign-up sheets will be located in the church entryway. If you are signed up to read, please pick up the 2019-2020 church year liturgical schedule readings from the church office. This schedule contains the scripture for each Sunday of the church year (December 1, 2019 through November 30, 2020).

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDEDWe are in need of volunteers for the Altar Committee and the Money Counting Committee. Please leave your name and contact information in the church office if you can serve on either or both of these Committees. THANK YOU!!!

ST. MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH

St. Mark will be having a pancake supper Sunday, April 19 from 4 – 7 PM. The menu will include potato and buttermilk pancakes/REAL maple syrup/sausage/applesauce/cheese/dessert/beverages. The cost will be Adults - $8.00/Children (6 – 12) $4.00/Children (under 6) Free.

HELP FOR HOMELESS 2020 HYGIENE DRIVE

Everything was picked up, sorted, counted, and delivered to the agencies by March 13 - just before everything came to a halt with Covid19 restrictions. WHEW! It's looking like another record-setting year and we look forward to sending a celebration video in a few weeks. THANK YOU on behalf of our 3 participating crisis programs for all of the treasure...including 719 rolls of (impossible to find) toilet paper! YOU ROCK! � �

Foundations For Living is hosting an Annual Spring Banquet, April 23rd , 6 PM , at the Par 4 Bistro in Waupaca.
