Our unique HV Testing Capability.

Based in Victoria, Zinfra brings a unique capability to the local power market – a high voltage testing lab.

The lab is used for the regular testing and calibration of equipment used in the field.

With a reputation as a ‘one stop shop’, the lab team not only identifies faulty or sub-standard quality equipment, but they manufacture, repair and source everything for electrical safety.

The HV Testing Lab: • Tests equipment up to 120kV across four

separate testing areas

• Tests high and low voltage electrical equipment

• Tests gloves, sleeves, mats, hard covers, earth leads, jumper cables, barriers, mid-span isolators, operating sticks and their attachments, etc.

• Includes an Instruments section that tests and calibrates a broad range of electrical instruments, including Dobles, Neutral and Supply Testers (NSTs), Modiewarks, rope testers, multimeters, etc.

• Has a robust system that keeps records of all testing in a fully customised and backed up database.

Testing Ongoing and regular testing and maintenance of electrical equipment are a must to ensure the ongoing safety and reliability of high voltage equipment.

Our clients benefit from Zinfra’s well-equipped HV testing lab facilities that allow for testing of most electrical operating equipment.

Conducted over four separate testing areas, client requests can be fulfilled by the HV testing lab team in 48 hours.

Testing is complimented by our database system that provides:

• Testing schedules and reminders to ensure regularity of testing and calibration

• A unique identification number for each piece of equipment

• Clients with reports detailing results, the date undertaken and the next test due date

• Complete equipment historical data• Equipment grouping (by site,

department location).

Manufacturing and refurbishmentAnother unique capability of the HV testing lab team is the manufacture

and sale of operating sticks and attachments.

In addition to manufacturing, the team offers testing, maintenance, and refurbishment of equipment.

Development and supply of insulated percussion barsIn an industry first, the Zinfra HV testing lab team developed insulated percussion bars. When using this equipment, gas operators are protected against the risk of electrical shock.

Percussion bars are everyday tools used to locate leaks in gas pipes. The risk associated with this equipment is when underground, high voltage cables are located in the vicinity of gas pipes.

The development of the insulated percussion bar was the result of persistence over a number of years, resulting in an electrical insulating tube that is fitted to the percussion bar and used with a curved insulating mat on which the operator stands to provide the protection against electric shock.

Zinfra manufacture insulated percussion bars for use internally and they are also available for purchase.

Calibration and maintenanceCalibration and maintenance of electrical equipment, such as Dobles, Modiewarks and IR testers is all in a days’ work for the HV testing lab team.
