HELPE explored the country from 1975 - 2007

The Greek State awarded to HELPE exclusive rights for E&P activities in 26 oil promising blocks, while audited and overviewed Prinos area operations (1975 – 2007)

HELPE, as operator, with its high quality personnel and using advanced support by experienced third parties, explored the country

with extensive geochemical, geological & geophysical studies

acquiring 63.000 km onshore & offshore seismic data and

drilling 75 wells

Woodside, Statoil, OMV, Lukoil, JAPEX, Kuwait Energy etc.

Following an open door international tender the Greek State on October 2014 awarded exclusive exploration and production rights to the business scheme of

Hellenic Petroleum (50%, operator) and

Edison International (50%)

Up to Oct. 2017, when the 1st exploration phase will be expired, all the exploration works will be completed (geological studies – processing & interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data.)

The commitments of the next two phases (with two years each duration) is to drill one well in each phase

international round for 20 blocks in

the area of Ionian sea and SW of

Crete with bid date 14 July 2015

The JV of Total (50% operator) -

Edison (25%) and HELPE (25%)

submitted offer for block 2

HELPE submitted:

offers for two blocks in Ionian

Sea (block 1 north of Corfu and

block 10 Kyparissiakos Gulf)

The negotiations for the Lease

Agreement for block 2 completed,

while are still ongoing for block 10

and block 1 is pending.

Following a competitive evaluation process the Ministry of Energy (4 Feb 2016) has declared HELPE as the “selected applicant” for two blocks:

Arta – Preveza and NW Peloponnese

Energean is declared “selected applicant” for Aitoloakarnania block

The Lease Agreements are concluded and delivered to Court of Audits (29 Dec 2016) before ratification by the Parliament

March 2014 HELPE and ENEL agreed to submit application for W. Greece

May 2014 ENEL submitted to Ministry application for 3 onshore areas

Aug 2014 Ministry released an international tender

HELPE – ENEL and a third major formed a JV and studied the data

14 Feb 2015 HELPE submitted 2 offers for “Arta” and “NW Peloponnese” and Energean another 2 offers for “Arta” and “Aitoloakarnania”

Since EDEY is not staffed, the Ministry runs the process having appointed an Evaluation Committee

26 Oct 2015 Following a competitive evaluation process final offers submitted.

4 Feb 2016 After an unsuccessful negotiating session amongst the participants, initiated and ruled by the Ministry, a Ministerial Decision issued declaring selected applicant HELPE for Arta and NW Peloponnese and Energean for Aitoloakarnania
