Welcome to the 3rd Annual Conqueror Meeting!

The last 12 months have seen Conqueror reach and pass a significant milestone; 200 cities in 100 countries. It is you our members who have assisted us in this as your reliability, financial security and cooperative spirits have secured Conqueror’s position as the network to ‘trust’ in the industry and, as such, a network which freight forwarders across the world are lining up to join.

Our third meeting will see the coming together of over 120 agents from across the world to build and strengthen cooperation further through sharing experiences, visions and goals. Every agent will leave with an ever greater understanding of what Conqueror’s framework of disciplined cooperation can do for their business. And of course, let’s not forget that this meeting will provide the perfect platform from which you can promote your business internationally. So, to get the most out of the meeting, come prepared with your elevator speech and company literature.

I will also be sharing with you our strategies for growing the network in both membership and reputation in the industry during 2014-2015. In addition, you will be the first to hear about a new PR strategy we will be launching for all members to take advantage of.

PREPARING FOR AND REACHING THE VENUE

Getting to the hotelTrain – KLIA EXPRESS The KLIA express is a fast modern train, which offers a non-stop airport transfer to and from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the city (KL Sentral) in just 28 minutes. The cost is RM35 / EUR8 one-way. Trains run;

• Every 15 minutes – peak hours (Mon to Fri 06:00-09:00 hrs and 16:00-22:00 hrs)• Every 20 minutes – off-peak hours (Mon to Fri 05:00-06:00 hrs, 09:00-16:00 hrs and

22:00-00:00 hrs; Sat and Sun all day)• Every 30 minutes – after midnight

KLIA Express is easy to find. When you arrive at KL International Airport and have exited out into the airport’s arrival concourse, you will immediately see several signs indicating where to catch the train. The signs will say KLIA Express. Follow the signs, either going down in the elevator or down the escalator, and you’ll soon find yourself on the ERL platform.

Transfers: → Transfers are available at RM330 / EUR79 net per limousine per way. → 50% surcharge will be levied for service rendered between 12am and 6am. → The hotel requires at least 24 hours prior notification for any amendment or

cancellation for limousine arrangement, failing which full limousine charges will be levied.

→ Flight details are required for limousine booking.

Taxi:Taxi takes about 55 to 60 minutes from KLIA to the hotel. KLIA, taxi fares are approximately RM100 / EUR23 One-way.From KLIA: Only Airport Limo limousines and budget taxis can pick up passengers at the airport. Coupons for these taxis can be bought at the Airport Limo counters just before you exit the international arrivals gate, or just outside the domestic arrivals gate.

Watch for drivers that hang around the airport as they are infamous for scamming visitors. If you are approached by anyone asking where you are going, beware; they will shamelessly inflate the price and will lie about the availability of other options.

On-site registrationThe Conqueror registration desk will be on the 1st Floor opposite the Bentley Pub. The desk will be accepting registrations from Friday 9th May 2014 (14:00 – 19:00).Upon registration, you will receive your name badge along with a welcome pack. Please ensure that you wear your name badge at all times. It will enable your fellow delegates to recognize you and make it easier for the hotel staff to assist you, should you need anything.

We suggest that you register before 19:00 to avoid standing in a lengthy queue.

Hotel check-in/check-outThe hotel’s official check-in time is 14:00 and check-out time is 12:00 noon.Early check-in:For Check-in before 14:00, rooms must be pre-blocked one night in advance. The charge of an additional full day will be levied at the confirmed room rate. Late check-out:Check-out requests after 12:00 are subject to availability. 50% off the existing room rate will be levied for a late check-out before 18:00 and a full day charge will be levied for late check-out after 18:00.

All our meetings will be held in Ballrooms 1 and 2 on Level 2.

Only registered delegates will be permitted entry.

Please note that under the laws of Malaysia, smoking is strictly prohibited in any enclosed areas. Guests are allowed to smoke in the hotel’s designated area, located at the side of the driveway or the open air balcony area located at the level 2 foyer.

We also request that you keep your mobiles switched off or turned to ‘silent’ during all sessions.

Cocktail evening (19:30 – 21:30)This will be our first opportunity to catch up on 12 months of news with old friends, as well as welcoming and getting to know our newer members. *Weather dependent, our cocktail evening will take place poolside at the Intercontinental, which you will find on level 5. Whilst you are involved in your chats, you will be offered a variety of Malaysian treats as well as delicious locally brewed beer, house wines, cocktails and soft drinks.

Such meetings put you in a position to learn more about an individual in 20 minutes than months of emails or phone calls ever could.Personal relationships are the primary driving force behind increased competition in business markets and endless methods to sell products and services. The power of personal networking propels a significant amount of business deals locally, nationally and internationally and continues to be the main driving force in closing deals.

Preparation for One to One meetingsIn order for everyone to get the most out of each meeting, all delegates should have the following with them:

In addition to the above, each delegate should do his/her homework about the agent he/she is having the meeting with. Think about why you are having the meeting, what do you want to know about them and vice versa.

Following the above steps will ensure that each meeting is profitable for both parties.

The One to One Meeting Scheduler will open on Wednesday 23rd April 2014. We will remind all delegates of this date and the closing date of the scheduler, nearer the time.

When the day’s meetings are over, we will gather together in the hotel lobby before setting out on a short drive to one of Kuala Lumpur’s finest restaurants, Neo Tamarind. Aptly described as ‘Zen in the city’, Neo Tamarind sits upon a hill and offers its diners the illusion of being out-of-town. Surrounded by waterfalls and green spaces, delegates will be treated to the restaurant’s modern Thai and Indochinese menu. The chef has also thrown in a few European comforts as well, but of course with an Asian twist. Once the dining is done, the music will start and the dancing begin.

The second day is jam-packed with one-to-one meetings. Delegates are advised to book all available slots in order to make the most of their time at the annual meeting. We don’t want any agent leaving Kuala Lumpur feeling that this meeting was not worthwhile and that their business hasn’t benefitted.

PROGRAMME AND ACTIVITIES

When your final one-to-one meeting is over, you are free to enjoy all the pleasures the hotel has to offer, whether it be lounging by the pool, or rejuvenating in the spa. Or, take a taxi to the Central Market where you will find a world of Malaysian heritage and culture as well as souvenirs for every kind of visitor.
