Internship Completion

Completing an internship either after graduating or during the summer while one is in school has a number of advantages. In addition to building up one’s resume, an internship allows individuals to create a large professional network. Also, according to Forbes, nearly 70 percent of companies with 100 employees or more offer full-time jobs to their interns. Time magazine reported that 80 percent of employers specifically looked for internship experience when considering new hires.

Conclusion

Perhaps one of the most overlooked advantages of an internship is the confidence that it builds in a future employee. New graduates frequently feel unready for the workplace, largely due to a lack of hands-on experience. A lack of confidence may quickly become apparent during an interview and affect one’s chances of landing a job. The intern, on the other hand, comes to the company with experience and confidence to match.
