Our Company

Australian Work Placement is a South Australian company which delivers a comprehensive array of settlement services to overseas students and migrants. Their first impression about South Australia is very important and would largely depend on how they are welcomed in our State. We are determined to make them realise that our State is the education hub of Australia.

Arriving in Australia…

Migrating to a new country can cause undue stress to Students, particularly those who come from diverse Social and cultural backgrounds. New arrivals may find that Australian attitudes (and Legislation) regarding gender roles and rights differ considerably from their own country of origin.

Arriving in Australia…

Developing greater awareness and understanding of Australian social and cultural norms is an integral part of settlement. Information on gender roles, social practices, rights, privileges and responsibilities under Australian law may help entrants to adapt to a new life in Australia.

Social participation:

Arriving in a new country, often with limited understanding of English, some new arrivals need assistance to make social connections. Adapting to a new social environment can be a daunting task and entrants may lack the confidence to seek out opportunities for social engagement.

Entrants with low-level English language skills and those settling in rural areas can be particularly vulnerable to social isolation and possible discrimination. AWP can instil confidence in the individual to break down these social barriers enabling them to interact through a sponsored support network.
