Club News

From The Desk of The G.M. By Jason Skinner

Winter is fast approaching, and with it comes the inevitable shortened days, longer nights and much loved and anticipated holidays. I have asked a few members thus far and will continue to recruit interested indi-viduals to join one of two committees I believe would benefit our community, one being a social activities com-mittee and the other a golf committee, both aimed at soliciting member feedback and insight as to how we drive increased interest and participation in these areas. I would encourage all who are interested to reach out to be directly. Woodcrest is winding down from a spectacular golf season, one which witnessed a regeneration of inter-est and play, a welcomed sight on any course. As many of you know we chose not to aerate this fall, as Patrick’s team achieved perfect condition status once again providing a near flawless course, so a profound thank you to Patrick and the grounds team. Woodcrest Country Club has a proud tradition of community and being a hub of family activity, and we are continuing our efforts to build our family base by ways of our membership. Past members are coming back, new members are signing up and our social membership is flourishing. We are ramping up our 2015 events plan-ning and hope to bring a new standard of excellence to our events, which we all hope will further drive continued use of the clubhouse, pool and golf course. Our focus is on family, and I hope you will all participate in the new events we are planning. We start the new year off with a spectacular New Years Eve Celebration that is sure to be the bench mark for future events here at Woodcrest and I encourage you all to attend. Family is the cornerstone of the club, and with any family we go through growing pains. You will notice new faces throughout the year as our team grows and adapts to the needs of a world class club. We are working with many international organizations to provide J-1 visa students an opportunity to experience Woodcrest and be a part of our service team next summer. This should be a great experience, having a wealth of stories, experi-ences and cultures to share with us all. Service is our focus for 2015, and I am working diligently to provide the training and education to our staff necessary to make Woodcrest a topic of conversation in every home and club in New Jersey. We want to bring home bragging rights after every event and golf outing and be the club all members can be proud of and eager to show off to friends and prospective members alike. As we dive deeper into the thick of winter, Bar 1929 will be adjusting its hours to reflect an amended din-ing schedule for January & February. Please join us for lunch and dinner service; Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 11am - 9pm during the months of January & February. Check out the special events calendar located on pages 14-17 for additional events taking place at your club. As a reminder, we will continue to be available for large par-ty, private dining requests, during the week and on weekends, for parties of 10 or more. Contact [email protected] for details. In closing, I want to thank you for welcoming me into your family. Woodcrest Country Club is a club on the verge of greatness and I look forward to being part of the family that makes it happen. I wish you all a very happy Holiday season and I hope to see you at our New Years Eve Bash!

{ }We recently had the pleasure of sharing the after-noon with some of Woodcrest’s budding culinarians. The afternoon was full of the foundations of cooking and lots of laughs! Thanks again to all who came out to participate and we look forward to the spring and many upcoming events. -WCC Management

Miss the cooking class last month? We will be having another December 9th! Check the back page for more details.

if they don’t realize it. Even if you’re not a great

chef, there’s nothing to stop you understanding

the difference between what tastes good and

what doesn’t.

Golf News

As we move into the winter season there is still some good golf weather ahead. On Saturday, December 6th we are holding the Red Tee Scramble with Crazy Pins. This a first for this time of the year. Come out, have some fun, and maybe an adult beverage or two. Play from the front tee in a scramble format and try to master some outrageous pin positions. The event is scheduled for a 9am shotgun start. We will blind draw teams in an ABCD format. Should be lots of fun, so brave the cold and have some laughs. Now is also a great time to re-grip your clubs. Call the pro shop for more details: 856-428-1243. We are now in off season mode for posting scores. We will resume on April 1st. November thru March golfers are able to walk at anytime, we do allow pull carts at this time of the year. Pro Shop hours are daily 9am to 5pm. Thank you, Bill Torlucci
