WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK 2021 Since its inception on the campus of Montclair State University in 2014, Women Entrepreneurship Week (WEW) has grown into a global movement with the goals of celebrating female founders and inspiring young women. When we were last able to gather in person in 2019, WEW events were organized at more than 240 colleges and universities across 32 countries and 49 states. Last year when we pivoted due to COVID, we still gathered virtually, conducting over 20 full-length interviews with amazing female founders. Our virtual series garnered almost 500 registrants, over 2k views and 75 hours of viewership. The 8th annual Women Entrepreneurship Week at Montclair State University gives our partners and participants the opportunity to engage with fellow female founders, small-business owners and community leaders as they look for advice and inspiration to help guide their entrepreneurial journey. In 2021 we’re looking to build off our WEW legacy, while offering virtual and in-person engagement options based on COVID restrictions and concerns. Our 2021 WEW event at Montclair State will take place on Wed. October 20th (1pm - 3pm). Participants will have the opportunity to attend in person (withlimited capacity) or view the event via livestream. Our event format will feature a speaker showcase with a series of 10-minutedigestible presentations, plus an interactive panel. Speaker programming and content will center on “Innovation in a Post-COVIDWorld”, featuring inspirational take-aways for how to navigate and thrive in thepost-COVID entrepreneurial landscape. Specific topics are TBD, but we are lookingto foster conversations across various sectors, discussing topics that are bothtimely and relevant to our audience (e.g. sectors hard-hit in the pandemic, thrivingsectors, creative problem solving in the face of customer attrition,government/overarching perspective on the road ahead, inspirationalroadmapping, etc.)
