Winston L. Wolfenberger, 82, of Houston, passed away November 26, 2006. Winston was retired from General Motors after 25 years. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Pacific during WWII, where he earned three Purple Hearts and two Silver Stars with Oak Leaf Clusters.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Eloise. Winston is survived by his daughters,

and and husband James; two grandsons, and and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm - 7:00pm Wednesday, and the Funeral Service will be at 10:00am Thursday, November 30th, both held at Niday Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.

I am currently researching the members of our family that fought in the Civil War on both sides. In the course of my research on Ancestry I found that several of our relatives were prisoners during World War Two. Three were buried overseas and one missing in action. -

My examination of the WFA membership roster shows there are 41 members whose membership expired at the end of 2005. Please examine the label on this issue of the Wolfensberger newsletter. If it says your membership expired last year. This is the last WFA newsletter you will receive. We certainly don't want to lose you as a member but we have no other choice. So please complete the renewal form and send it along with your check (and your ballot) so you will continue to receive the WFA newsletter.

You need to pay for 2006 2007 (total $18.00) to continue to receive the newsletter all next year. For our members who have children and grandchildren who have most everything, treat them to an introduction to their family tree by enrolling them as a new member in the Wolfensberger Family Association for the year 2007. The best way to preserve our heritage is to pass it on to our children and grandchildren. And the best way to do that is by introducing them to the family through the WFA newsletter.
