Leading in a New Economy Tips Every Leader Should KnowThe challenges of leadership intodays economy are many. Someare tried and true, while othersare unlike any in recent history.Regardless, leadership is what willseparate the good from the greatas our country works to rebuild athriving, stable economy. Today, businesses everywhere are rampingup to come out of this recession

stronger than before and rise abovethe rest.

As the economy and businessmarket changes, its essentialfor business leaders to growand develop with it, saidRobert A. Funk, co-founder andCEO ofExpress Employment

Professionals. Their success as aleader and as a company dependson it. These four tactics can bebeneficial in that process.

Be Flexible. Todays successfulleaders realize that a heavy-handapproach can be counterproductive.

The best leaders will be the oneswho arent afraid to say Im not

entirely sure, what do you think?or Hey, lets try something newand see if it works. The changingeconomy brought uncertainty to theworkplace, so a flexible leadershipstyle can help navigate in this newbusiness environment. Leaders whoare open-minded are more likely tocapitalize on new ideas.

Delegate Tasks and Trust OtherMost people in upper managemenworked hard to get where theyare by doing things themselves. So, they often rely on continuingto do things the same way. But,effective leaders understand theimportance of equipping their teammembers to accomplish individuagoals. Micromanagers will not only

have difficulty thriving in this newenvironment, but they may alsolose valuable employees in theprocess.

Hire for Success. Hiring forsuccess means hiring based on sksets a leader lacks. Because a greleader knows their limitations, theyre not afraid to admit theirfaults. In order for business leadeto achieve desired results, theymust put the right people in place

Employees who will complimentthe skills of the entire team. Beingsurrounded by the best employeeswill ultimately be a boost to anyleader and will set the entirecompany up for success.

Coach Regularly. Mentoringemployees has always been animportant part of leadership, but now more than ever, its a
